It works. Fill the hole with JB Weld. Once it sets, you use a center punch then drill out the JB Weld and the ball. Tap for a 1/8 NPT plug.

So if i take off the lower oil pan, and i do the method you outlined, I will be drilling through that JB weld/ball and be able to see my drill bit come through the other side

I wouldn't drill that far. You only need to drill deep enough to thread in the 1/8 NPT plug.

Thanks, but still not picturing it in my head. yea sure knowing its a ball bearing press but not being able to visualize it doesn't help me understand how its prone to leaking. I'm trying to google things and not coming up. What sort of diagram should i be googling to see an image of something like this? when i think of ball bearing pressed in i'm thinking like simple ball bearings that spin. But that has multiple ***** in the bearing, this on the oil pan only has one ball.
