2004 350z won't start
So my 350z hasn't been running for almost a year now and still no idea on why it won't start. I hooked it up to an OBDII scanner 2 weeks ago and it threw both cam shaft sensor codes and I replaced them both and still won't start. Idk if it's been sitting too long or what. When it started to go out it was losing power would stall and all that good stuff like a cam shaft sensor going out but at the time it was breaking down I didn't know what I was doing and let it sit for a year until I researched about the car and started working on it. The battery is also pretty dead so everytime I try to start it I have too get a jump so idk if it's because I'm not getting full power from the battery.
Hey, Wsheff.
Has it been sitting outside, or inside for a year?...
- Regardless, I would do a compression/leak down test first to determine the health of the engine above the crank.
- If the results are within specs, I would then change the oil and check the condition of your spark plugs(if they are wet or heavy with carbon deposits, replace).
- Did you get OEM Nissan camshaft sensors? (These cars DO NOT like generic sensors)
- Check your air filter for critters, extensive clogging.
- Replace battery or have yours charged(if it will still hold a charge).

And no I didn't use the OEM sensors but it isn't throwing the codes anymore.
