Default 2004 350z won't start

So my 350z hasn't been running for almost a year now and still no idea on why it won't start. I hooked it up to an OBDII scanner 2 weeks ago and it threw both cam shaft sensor codes and I replaced them both and still won't start. Idk if it's been sitting too long or what. When it started to go out it was losing power would stall and all that good stuff like a cam shaft sensor going out but at the time it was breaking down I didn't know what I was doing and let it sit for a year until I researched about the car and started working on it. The battery is also pretty dead so everytime I try to start it I have too get a jump so idk if it's because I'm not getting full power from the battery.

Hey, Wsheff.

Has it been sitting outside, or inside for a year?...

- Regardless, I would do a compression/leak down test first to determine the health of the engine above the crank.
- If the results are within specs, I would then change the oil and check the condition of your spark plugs(if they are wet or heavy with carbon deposits, replace).
- Did you get OEM Nissan camshaft sensors? (These cars DO NOT like generic sensors)
- Check your air filter for critters, extensive clogging.
- Replace battery or have yours charged(if it will still hold a charge).

Another consideration in the age of Ethanol blended fuels- siphon all the gas and start with fresh 93. I've heard it doesn't do well sitting for long periods. Good luck!

It has been sitting outside.
And no I didn't use the OEM sensors but it isn't throwing the codes anymore.

Not good. I would still do a compression test, and if the results come back good, then you're on solid ground. You don't want to throw money at a dead engine.

On a new motor the numbers are between 185 - 190psi. across all cylinders. The minimum tolerance is 142psi. You'll probably be anywhere between 155 - 178psi. across all cylinders, which is OK.
