Default Engine shut off

I've recently been having problems with my car shutting off similar to when the camshaft sensors goes bad. Engine dies, power steering goes. I went to AutoZone to get it checked out and they told me it was the Vvt(bank 2). My sister's bf ordered me some new ones but wheb they came in and after installing them we noticed they had the number 6 on them while the ones on my car had 4. So we decided to use the new solenoids with the old casings. For the rest of the day I had no problems till the next morning it happend again and keeps occurring pretty much all day. When I let off the gas at 3-5000rpm (different speed limits where I drive) the idle would drop to about 700rpm. I went to AutoZone and they told me it was the Vvt (bank 2) again. Has anyone ever experienced this problem before and know what I can do?

No, I took off the solenoid and casings avid put on the new ones, but oil shot out. So I only switch one of the cases with the one it had and oil didn't shoot out, so i replaced the other casing with the one it had. So the casings are the same just the solenoids are different. Idk where he got them from but they were specified for my car.

Is it shooting oil out of this hole?(see image) Those are generic castings if it is, and need to be replaced with OEM Nissan ones. I would ask your sisters bf where he got them and try to return them as a unit. They're not sensors, technically, so you'll probably be able to.

I know, trav. It's a legit question. It's just asked so often, and with good reason. That's what I meant.

yea it shot from there. From what we did we used the old casings since those didn't shot oil and we just used the new solenoids from the ones he ordered. We're they suppose to shoot oil

You're wrong. It's always a good, reasonable question. So many aftermarket sensors are garbage. Modern cars don't tolerate the aftermarket stuff like older cars did back in the day.

Yeah, I read that you had switched the new solenoids to the old castings. Hopefully the new solenoids hold up. I don't have experience with that kind of scenario.

Is your 'check engine light' on? How did Autozone know it was your Bank 2 variable valve timing solenoid? Did they hook it up to their scanner and check for error codes?

some of then repeat, the cylinder misfire might be due to having a missing bolt on one of the spark plugs, the steering might he because the car doesn't have the stock steering wheel
