08' 350z

Hello,

I'm having an issue identical to this post: https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/598925-car-stalling-at-warm-startup.html. It has been doing this since for a long time without any codes. Did an idle air relearn, and got the MAF cleaned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

does it die and then take a minute to start back up? if so, my guess is camshaft position sensors

 

Thanks for responding so quickly. It only dies every once in a while. When it dies, i have to give it a little gas the second time and it doesn't die. 98% of the time, it drops and levels out identical to that video. What ended up being the problem with your Z?

OP, did you touch/move the butterfly valve in your throttle body?

 

I haven't tampered with the throttle body. I was going to clean it, but the dealership recommended against it. They said it could cause more problems. You think the valve is stuck? Or is that common with Z's? The car has 86,000 on it.

p.s I'm not a car guy, so I apologize for my ignorance lol. Thank you guys for your input.

 

OK.. No, I don't think it's stuck. Just that the servo motor that controls the valve is electronically driven, so opening and closing the valve manually will sometimes cause it to loose its zero-point. And the dealership is right. It is best cleaned while it's running.

 

i would try the idle air relearn, throttle position relearn, etc etc

Clean your throttle heads, don't listen to the stealership, they want you to pay more to have their service departments do the same thing and fleece you in the mean time. It's really pretty easy and there's a ton of videos on Youtube.

 

8 months late to the party

 

My 05 350z will start from a cold start and stay running until the car warms up and the RPM drops to where it’s supposed to be when warm. Then it will run for a few seconds and stall. The car will start again right away and run for about 10 to 15 seconds then it’ll stall again. Now it’ll do this over and over again until I turn the AC on, Then The car will stay on but it doesn’t idle as smooth as it used to. As soon as the AC is shut off the car stalls. I have no check engine light on and no codes come up on the scan tool. The fuel pump is brand new so is the MAF sensor, and all o2 sensors. I’ve had a few people tell me it’s the cam posistion sensors or the crank sensor. Then I hand another guy say it could be fuel pressure isn’t enough or the ecu is having issues. I did clean the throttle body and i did it very carefully and I did the throttle relean for and everything worked fine there was no problems then. Any ideas what it could be?
