Default Random noise underneath

heybguys please please help! I'm in a panicked. Waited 2 years to land my perfect Z and now I'm worried. Hearing a weird noise and from what I've read it may be a rod knock- God please no. But I'm just not 100% of what and how to get it resolved. Please take a quick listen below in the video

thanks guys

Drop the oil pan and look for metal shavings, which would signal spun bearings causing the rod knock. If there's no metal, then at least you'll know that's not the issue. Be sure to get a new oil pan gasket for the reinstall.

could I drive it up to a shop which is like 5 miles from me? Or should I buy a jack and stand set and do it myself? since I don't happen to own a set unfortunately

if you call that perfect, your standards are low. how long have you had it, miles on it, etc

Wouldnt say standards are low- it's called a used car, stuff happens. Sorry I don't have wads of cash to dish out to find a low mile untouched Z.

Its '03 track with 88k on it. I've had it since 79k. the noise isn't there all the time.

It was here after some hard driving but past couple weeks it hasn't been sounding as such, now it's just a slight shake at idle and hesitation while accelerating.

I wouldn't drive the car on spun bearings. Either tow it to a shop if you're not confident with a wrench (no crime there) or refer to the FSM and pull the oil pan to check for shavings and metal fragments.

I had my mechanic come out today and check it out. He dropped the pan, no shaving, sound wasn't there anymore, very vey slight- usually it's louder after a hard drive.

He pushed it a little and brought it back and said if anything it's just the camshaft being a little loud. No clear cut diagnosis as of right now. As for the shaking, it's was a misfiring plug, replaced #3, and drove it a again- smooth sailing. So far today it's been fine, I'm at 3700 miles, so an oil change is in order as well (3500-4000 is my usual), maybe that'll help with the overall health obviously of the car.

Fingers crossed, to not have to buy a new engine eventually lol
