Default Car won't crank

Good afternoon!

I'm having a start issue with my 2004 Nissan 350z Roadster Enthusiast. 190k mles

Battery seemed to be dragging, and eventually the car would not even crank over this morning. Took the battery to O'reilleys, they felt it was bad. Took it to Napa and they replaced the battery. Put in the brand new battery, still not cranking.

Diagnostics so far -
Power is going to the rest of the car
When I turn the key to the on position, the interior and dash lights are on and normal
Advancing the key/ignition to the start position, all of the dash lights go out except the test lights (seat belt, brake, service engine etc)
Release the key back to the on position, dash lights re-illuminate.

Boyfriend thinks the starter is hung up/stuck. He checked the relay and it functions (ie clicks when I turn the key to start)

We are checking in with you all to see if there is anything else you might suggest we check before pulling the starter.

Thank you!
Jessica

Have you checked for stored codes?
