Rear differential bushing tool
Hey all,
Just bought my first Z car a couple weeks ago, it has the dreaded leaking diff bushing. I was doing alot of searching on this forum and stumbled across a post regarding a free to borrow rear bushing removal tool. The last post I saw on the thread was from a guy in GA asking to borrow it. I've looked and looked and searched but have not been able to find the thread again. Could someone one post a link to it?
Thanks!

Okay then I guess you can't read. No where in my post did I say I'm looking to buy one. A member bought one and was kind enough to loan it out. Being that its a tool I'll only use once, I would be better of just borrowing it and then shipping it to the next member that may need it. I have a sawzall so I will use it if I couldn't locate the loaner thread. So keep your useless two cents to yourself travlee.

Don't worry OP, I'm a cheapskate too, and I was able to do it with a cheap set of harbor freight chisels, and decent cordless drill / sawzall (though you could use the cheap HF versions of those too).
So if you can't find the tool, you still have cheap options.

Thanks for your reply, i believe I'm going to do the good ol' sawzall method, I was just worried about damaging the subframe where the bushing goes, but I'll just have to be extra careful lol I mean the front diff bushings can be knocked out with a socket.
Best to have some mid-grit (1-200) sand paper handy as well, I did a decent amount of scuffing-up on the subframe, but it sanded back out pretty easily.
a hole saw, like for a door comes in handy too, i cut out the middle of the diff bushing with tht.... if you use the sawzall... score the outer metal of the oe bushing some, then get a point punch (or chisel) to knock it up... it will eventually taco at that crease
are you planning on doing the diff ear bushings as well?
