Power Steering Doesnt work after replacing clutch
Had my clutch replaced the other day, picked it up and went for a test drive and noticed my steering was much much heavier than before. i asked the mechanic why is my steering so much harder now when it wasn't before. He said things might go wrong suddenly and you might want to replace your power steering pump too. Although it's possible that my power steering might suddenly go off but I think it's just too much of a coincident for my power steering to die right after I installed a new clutch. Could a line possibly have been pinched or was there a plug that can get loose during installation of the clutch? My mechanic double checked and made sure everything was torqued and plugged in. If anyone has had this happen I would love for any tips. Thanks for the help!

This isn't a common issue for the Z, as the brake and clutch hydraulic systems are completely separate. What do the clutch and brake master cylinders look like?
Anything is possible ... but do your due diligence and (safely) put the car up in the air (on jack stands or lift) and inspect the line.
I think you're right that they pinched the line or they damaged the fitting ... pretty shooty that he said 'things may go wrong suddenly' right after his repair...
do you have any leaks? do you have fluid in the reservoir?

Both the brake and clutch lines seem fine (or so I believe) because I can press and depress both my breaks and clutch smoothly. They engage normally and I don't have any problems with that. As for the power steering, everything seems normal. No sounds, no leaks, the fluids are all there. That's why it seems so odd to me. And I am pretty sure that the power steering pump/ lines aren't really in the way of any of the clutch harness's/ lines. I will jack up the car and inspect his work once the weather gets better here. Just trying to avoid having to change the power steering if that isn't the issue. Thanks for the input so far guys.
the fittings to the steering rack are VERY much in the way of bell-housing/engine and it's a botch to take the engine/trans out(as one piece) from the front of the car - I hit / ding it every time...
Can you get pictures of the rack underneath when you do your inspection?
Yeah it was removed with the engine in place. I completely forgot about the power steering rack haha im a dummy, kept focusing on the power steering pump. I will def take a look later for that. Are you aware of any obvious signs to look for on the steering rack for damages? From looking online, it seems that the most common damage is due to a leak but my fluids are still full. Thanks for the help.
