Default Any way to Jump the Fuel Pump

Hey everyone. I am working on my 350z and G35 parts car. I come from Miata's were it was super easy to jump the fuel pump. I need to drain the tank in the g35 as it has a full tank of gas. Is there an easy way to get the pump to come on and run. I just want to let it run and drain the free tank of gas into some gas cans. Worst case I figure ill take the relay out and jump it with some wire. Just curious if there is an easy way to do it.

Yea - find the pin-out of the fuel pump basket (I believe it the middle pin) and put 12volts on it … you can put a 5/16” hose on the fuel basket and run it to waste or waste it from the fuel rail side.

You ‘could’ put 12 volts on either the fuel pump relay pin that powers the pump or powers the trigger wire of the fuel pump relay. I’d have to reserach how to do this … so if you go this route let me know and Im happy to research in the FSM for you.

Unfortunately no easy way without a standalone ECU.

Yeah I was going to just feed it out in the engine bay off the feed line. Can just run it off the feed line since there is no engine in the car so there is loads of room. Guess its take the seat out and feed power to the pump that way. Ill just feed it with a battery and some wire. Going to cut the connectors out of the parts car anyways. So I guess its just get all data out and figure out power and ground. Probably the easiest way as the ecu is out of the parts car.

You can - just use caution and best practices for handling fuel.

The rear seats in the G come out pretty easy - not entirely impossible but going from the fuel pump relay isnt hard either.

I dont think the ECU plays a role with the fuel pump - I could be wrong but I believe the fuel pump is activated by the igntion switch through the IPDM.

Happy to look it all up and source sections/pages if you need me to

Well did this the other day. I cut the pigtail but it was a parts car. For those who find this post later on. Power goes to the Black and Yellow wire. Ground goes to the solid black wire.
