Default Knock sensor relocation

I apologize if this has been covered but an extensive web search has not yielded any information with regard to the 350Z.

I just finished replacing my valve covers with good results. Being new the job took a while as I worked then watched youtube and then worked. When I restarted the engine the misfire error code cleared but I developed a P0327 which I did not have prior to the valve cover replacement.

Needless to say this is disheartening as I just got the engine together.

Has anyone relocated the knock sensor to a more accessible location outside the engine-on the block or somewhere?

Thank you very much in advance

you really dont want to do this … the knock sensor is strategically placed by nissan to ‘listen’ for knock. If you were to move it closer to one cylinder and further away from another it could be problematic with the ECU and the OEM tuning. Further, the wiring harness is a sheilded / grounded wire and you would need to extend it.

There are a few good spots on the lower passenger side near the alternator but highly discouraged unless you have a way to re-calibrate your knock signal reception.
