My 2003 350z spudders and stalls out after about 30 minutes of driving but only on really warm days, when it's about 80 degrees. Doesn't throw a code and has to cool down before it will start back up. Coolant temp is good and I've replaced just about every sensor on the car. It runs great up until that 30 minutes is up. A problem like this should set a DTC with the ECM/PCM. You will probably need an advanced OBDII tool that can read and log live data, do some driving tests to reproduce the issue, and troubleshoot from there. Replacing sensors, especially if using aftermarket, can cause more problems and potentially mask the root cause.

Have you done a code scan? What codes if any are present?

my first thought, sounds like a fuel pump issue, possibly the wiring at the fuel pump housing plug ( look inside plug too) or a bad fuel pump.. you will need to watch fuel pressure as you drive and when the issue occurs. If it were me, id just buy a whole new oem style pump and basket off ebay and start there.

 

Thanks guys for the help. I have a good code scanner that can log data. It didn't throw a code and it didn't show anything wrong. I replaced all sensors (with oem) except coolant temp sensor, that's next. It's been doing this for about 5 years. I've replaced (oem) the fuel pump, ignition coils, alternator, knock sensor and harness, cam shaft and crank position sensors, oxygen sensors, and maf sensor. Also, replaced the throttle body.

 

Holy cow, that's firing the parts canon alright. Wow! Been doing this for 5 years? I'm shocked you haven't gotten rid of the cursed Z! Sounds like a perfect candidate for Ivan @ Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics (in PA).

My hunch is on a wiring fault somewhere. To be more precise, I think you have a loose connection somewhere, like a female harness pin that's been spread/stretched. As things get hot, this causes the connection to get so loose that it completely separates and breaks the circuit. You can do some basic testing by simply running the engine and wiggling/tugging the main engine harness under the hood to see if you can re-produce the problem.

Worst case scenario, you might have a bad computer module. Personally, I would take it to a pro at this point. Problems like this can be very difficult to diagnose.
