What do I use to clean my MAF ?
I had a recent problem with my K&N Typhoon intake being coated too much with oil and covered the green board on the MAF, causing my car to die on me. . . .
I was curious if anyone knows of a safe soultion I can buy to clean off the MAF and how exactly the safest way to do this is? (Just incase I have this problem again)
Someone mentioned it on a thread a long time ago, but I can't remember what soultion from Autozone I could buy, and the method of cleaning it without damaging anything
I hope someone can help me out!
Respectfully,
Chris

No it wont hurt. You don't have to soak it though. Get a Q-Tip and get a good amount on that, and then just gently go over the sensor a couple times with that. Will be good as new. Haha, I did the same thing with my old K&N filter....tried to clean and re-charge it myself. Then after I cleaned my MAFS, i went out and just bought a new filter....much easier...looks better than the old dirty one too.
To clean the MAF though, do I have to take anything apart on it? I don't see a green board. one side is black, and the other side is silver. Is there a cover I am supposed to pop off?
I don't wanna damage this, because they are soooo expensive!
