NNA notice regarding "tire growl" aka tire feathering/alignment issue
I recently received a notice from NNA regarding the “tire growl” issue. It basically restates the information included in the latest TSB. The notice addresses the following:
1. Extension of adjustment warranty for front tire wear to 24-month/unlimited miles.
2. Tread wear measurement and corrective action.
3. Tire replacement policy.
4. Reimbursement form for those people who paid to replace their tires after the initial 12-month/12k mile period.

I think it's just a matter of time before the TSB is extended to the '04 models.

Many say no. It just creates different adverse wear patterns.

FYI...I took my car in to Nissan to have them look at the wear again. They called NNA. NNA is replacing my tires for free. The kicker is I have an 04....
I think they are trying to make me happy since they know what is coming...

I finally received my notice today ( 5/15/04 ). Vechile in service date 12/30/02 and currectly have ~10500 miles on car.
Alignment and tires swapped/replaced once already and now feathering showing up on outside of thread.
I do not know if this notice ( TSB ) will cover another set of tires since it specifically states "on the inside portion of the front tires".

My tires started "growling" starting @ 9000 miles with the associated feathering pattern, but didn't care too much about it cauz i planned on getting better tires (Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions) at around 15000 miles.
Today, I was bring the car in for an oil change, but noticed that the car would slightly pull to the LEFT (most people seems to have problem pulling to the right).
Anyhow, the dealer checked out the suspension and steering which were OK. Looks like the problem is alignment.
Now the car is getting an alignement done, curious to see how out of spec my alignment is.
BTW, my build date is April 03, and according to dealer's files, there are not TSB applied to my build date regarding tire feathering problem.

That's crap. My build date is June 03 (last month for the 03s, I think July 03 was the first month fro the 04 models) and mine has been serviced under the TSB. The TSB applies to ALL '03 models.
The best thing you can do is print the TSB, read it, and take it to the dealer and have them read it in front of you.

Got the car back, alignment is much improve(but according to the service manager..it is not perfect), he told me to bring the car in next week as he will be ordering the TSB control arm. (all free of charge)... guess everything is working out well
