Default Getting tranny replaced

What's the process of getting the tranny replaced? Do you just walk up to the dealer and tell them it feels messed up??

I can't seem to speed shift it into 3rd....well, it only happened once because I only tried it once. Otherwise it feels like a typical notchy tranny. Advice?

Oh, and it vibrates quite a bit when the car is in neutral.

I am pretty sure most dealears are only going to replace the tranny if the gears are really grinding. The reason you are having problems with speed shifting is due to the synchros not being lined up. This is not exactly an error, although one would expect something better in a performance sports car. If you are in doubt, I would take it to a dealership and start to document the problems you feel you have.

Good luck!

Hmmm...pretty frustrating...how am I supposed to go down the 1/4 mile if I can't chirp it into 3rd? Can they fix this synchro thing? The car drives fine the rest of the time...

I have an Oct. 02 build date with 14k miles

I was at the dealership last night purchasing an 01 pathfinder and I had some spare time to sit in an '04 roadster. I rowed thru the gear box...what a difference...my car definitely does not feel like that. It was so damn smooth.

I really think I need a new tranny....anyone who's gone thru it, please let me know the process....

I had gone through 4!!! trannys within a year and it still didnt help it worked fine for a week or two then same problems came up. Well I can say I'm rid of my problem now getting NNA to buy back my 03 track turning same in next week. I can say that NNA treated me ok after they found out that I was talking to BBB called me on a Friday, called today to let me know to turn it in Tues 06/01/04 and a check will be waiting so all who having the same problems with tire wear and tranny issue keep good records dont give up!!!
