Thumbs down 30k Recommended Maintenance?

The dealer wants close to $500 for my 30k maint. ouch! I need some suggestions other then doing this myself. I still need to do some research to find out what I really need to do to keep my Z up to par. I welcome all suggestions inlcuding someone who has performed this maintenance. thanks

I found a local EZ Lube where they let me bring my fluids, and they allow me watch as they do the work. They only charge me $20 labor each for the tranny, diff, coolant, and power steering. I supplied the fluids. I had a dealer do the clutch, because I couldn't find the bleed valve. Total cost was around $250.

No, I have a manual. I've used EZ Lube several times to find a gear oil that minimizes the hard shifts. I've tried Nissan MTL, Redline, Royal purple... nothing seems to work terribly well.

Th 30k service is nothing more than a glorified oil change and air filter replacement according to the service manual. They "inspect" brake pads and lines, coolant level, fuel lines and evap vapor lines, steering linkage, and the exhaust system. One other thing they do is lube the suspension (WD40, nothing else - spray liberally over suspension joints).

Depending on the dealership, they may change the transmission and differential fluids.

All in all, the majority of this can be done by yourself for a little under $100 in fluids if you change the oil, diff, and tranny. Ain't labor a biznatch???

my car has around 22, 000 and im bringing it in tom.

should i ask for the 22,000 mile maintenance? is it worth it?
do the people even do have the things they list on those checklists?

or should i just get an oil change?

which transmission oil is the best for curing the hard shifts? My tranny seems unsmooth when shifting gears.
