Okay, this is freakin' me the hell out!! For the past week sometimes when I punch it in 1st-3rd gear hard to about 4 grand (sometimes less) my BRAKE, SLIP, and VDC lights all pop on. This can't be a good thing. This morning when I turned her on they all popped up before I even took off. They usually go off if I turn the car off and then back on, but they didn't this morning. It's an 04 with 18000ish miles on it...Anybody got any ideas out there what might be wrong her?! Im hoping ECU but fearing tranny? please tell me it aint the tranny...

one quick idea that can easily be ruled out is, by chance have you done anything aftermarket to her like tires and rims. If thats the case then check to make sure that you have the right stagger. If you havent done anything like that then get it in to the dealer. If you have write back with what your setup is. If you are stock then forget what i have just said.

I know i read somewhere that the 03's had a tsb, and i think they might have gone as far as a recall on some VIN's cause of a problem that sounded like this. I cant speak to wahat it was exactly but check nissanhelp.com and follow the links for the 350Z. Maybe by some weird chance your 04 is having the same problem, especially if it was still built in 03.

 

Those lights have nothing to do with the tranny. It could mean there is something wrong with the VDC. When the SLIP and VCD lights come on at the same time it means that the VDC is canceled as if the car didn't have VDC but is still drivable. However, since you also have the BRAKE light on too, I would diffenitely take it to the dealer to have it checked out. I would check the break fluid reservor making sure it's not below minimum.

 

All the lights come on when my brake fluid is too low. I experienced this after I changed out my brake lines.
