Thought you guys might get a kick out of a few pictures from my time over here. I have a few more which I'll post up later.
This one is right before I left Chagcharan. The flight out, I actually got to see where the Buddhas were. I'll never forget that.

This is at about 2am after a rocket attack. Im in IT, and we are sweepers. We sweep through a row of tents making sure everyone is the bunker and didnt sleep through the alarm (happens more than you might think.) Only then, do we get to head into the bunker.
This was after the all clear, we're all smiling, but were all pissed that we had to get up in the middle of the night.

A few days before Christmas 06. Look at the bald psycho. LOL representing.

Jingle Truck

Bottle water.. soooo important. My last flight on one of these, they had loaded up about 4 pallets with mortar rounds, and we had no place to put our legs. Very uncomfortable, specially knowing theres a ton or two of explosives sitting next to me.

Apache Escort - These guys follow us when we take Chinooks to other bases.

Usually there is a guy who sits on a little cushion manning this when we fly.

Dunno who this soldier is, but if I saw him coming, I might think twice.

Youve probably all seen this one by now, but it still gives me a chuckle.
New Taliban trap:

I'll post some up of Salerno first chance I get. We call that place Rocket City, its right on the border of Pakistan, and for a long time, it was where the Taliban was crossing in from Pakistan.
I also need to take pictures of the TLS building here in Kandahar.
Taliban Last Stand, or TLS for short is the building at Kandahar airport where they were literally holed up before we drove them out. A five hundred pounder ripped through the building. Today we use it for ADAC/G and a PAX terminal. Its cool, because you can still see all the bullet holes and where the bomb blew out the middle of it. I even have a few pieces of shrapnel from the bomb (found on the roof).
More to come
