No offense, middle guy looks like JAY from "Jay and Silent bob" !!

edit: I just realized it WAS him! Sweet!
Where was this at???
I've seen him with Kevin Smith before but only at a Comic Convention.

ACtually, that's not bad at ALL.
Considering I see soccer moms in their Suburbans by themselves, going nowhere fast.
With the way some of them drive, they probably wish they could get 19-21 on the highway.

Jay occasionally works (term used loosely) at "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" in Westwood, CA. He is like living out his dream I guess - chilling in a comic book store, gets to smoke weed whenever he wants (since he's into that I guess) and he randomly goes to Vegas and **** for the chicks. He's pretty easy to talk to, a really nice guy.

Well, I met her at a friends party, so she never saw what I was driving. So, on our first date I borrowed my buddies Civic and took her out. I did this for the first 5 or so dates. It got to be annoying always going over to his house to borrow his car to go on a date when I knew I could just drive one of my own cars. So, I decided to buy it from him (he was selling it anyway: 2k). I used it for the remaining of the time until I told her that I was just using it to take her out.

Melodic that is an awesome idea. Really weeds out the gold diggers or materialistic I would assume. To a point I guess. What was her reaction when she finally got picked up in a Viper?

The look on her face when you pulled up in your Viper for the first time must have been classic

Thanks, I thought it was a pretty good idea too. She was pretty shocked when she found out. Heres the good thing though. She told me that even if I had been driving the raggest piece of crap, she still would have wanted to be with me. Atleast I know shes not with me for the wrong reasons.

Thats such crap. Youre almost tricking the girl into forming an opinion of who you really are... or arent. I guess I can see why guys would wanna hide money from a girl but at the same time, I think Id be insulted. Just because you have money, doesnt mean I want it. I have my own, thanks [insert middle finger] I swear you men really give yourselves wayyy too much credit.

Yeah, that is a great idea... I always wanted to do something like that (weed out the materialistic girls). I'm quite curious to what kind of reaction she had. I mentioned my plan to female friends and most of them told me that most girls would have doubts because I wasn't "truthful" to them and it was precedent that I would "hide" things from them. So I never did it.

Edit: See? Another girl in the post above mine said the same thing. I haven't done it and don't plan to since you reinforced that it is a bad idea. Don't hate me BikerchickSI.

Its funny you mention that. I've never lied to her about anything except the car. I did it for good reasons. I had girls who would see what I had and would automatically want to go on a date. She was VERY understanding about it and has never doubted my intentions once. Her reaction was classic. Her jaw about hit the floor. I had to convince her that it was mine.

I dont hate anyone. It just frustrates me when men do that. I know alot of women are after money. Hell, Ive been friends with some of them. But being that Im not one of those, it kinda pisses me off. One night we were out & this guy kept saying he had a real POS car, blah blah, he had a nissan key- he said he had a pulsar [sp?] Yeah we go outside & he has a Z. Either way, I still thought he was a douchebag. :P I dunno why but it just makes me mad.... like if I knew a guy had an S55 & he was an a*hole, I wouldnt continue talking to him cause bottom line, hed still be an a*hole with an nice car.

Hey, more power to you for having your own. But, how many times have you heard of and or seen a guy date a woman for her money? I've had bad experiences with what women will try to do to date a guy with money. I was just trying to find a decent girl. I dont feel bad one bit for what I did. My fiance has NO PROBLEMS with what I did either.

Ok, this statement alone justifies why EVERY guy should do what I did. How are we supposed to know which girls are out to find deep pockets and which ones arent? We dont, thats the thing. Its not like women have a tattoo on them that reads "Im not out for your money". Infact, a lot of women will LIE about it.

Sounds like what Prince Akeem did in Coming to America... except to a much lesser degree.

BikerChickSI, well I haven't done it yet and don't plan to, but I can definitely see your pont of view. Melodic, I can see why you did what you did and as I said before, I myself have considered it many times. I'm glad you found a wonderful girl (especially since you're going to marry her).

It's just very hard these days to find a girl who will like you for who you are (not what you have) and sometimes we men come up with crazy ideas in order to find her. Of course it may not be the brightest idea, but finding that special someone is really hard. I know I'm still looking and driving a nice car really doesn't help me.

Given women are accused of doing it more than men but Im sure there are a*holes from both sexes. Its good that it worked out [obviously her being your fiance now] & I do understand why you did it. I just dont like the dishonesty factor. Then again, Im just bitter
