The scholarship is an academic scholarship that pays for 2 out of the 4 years of college...I was going to get a celica back in the summer, but decided to wait because I could not have my car at NC State anyways the first year....I'm glad because now I got a better and cooler car....hehe....I've already completed my first semester there....and I'm proud to say I made the dean's list....so that kinda also helped my parents decide to get the car now.....lucky me.....

Really nice job on the schlarship. If I was your parent I'd be thinking "Geez, the kid just saved me $35,000-$40,000 in college bill; maybe I'll give him back a chunk with the car."

College tabs are 16K to 30K a year almost anywhere in the country. I know; I'm paying a tab for one of my guys at the moment. He had a schlarship at one school but choose an academically higher rated school w/o the schlarship.

Did your parents put in a provision that if you lose the schlarship you give back the car?

LOL

Enjoy the car & hit the books!

Yes...I have had a whole list of rules and regulations handed to me....if I wreck the car, its gone...if I get a ticket, its gone....if I dont do well in school, its gone.....the list goes on and on ......so there are also some downs to getting a new car....lol...but the ups outweigh the downs tremendously.......

Congratulations and good luck. Keep up the good work. As you are already aware and can see, hard work pays off in the end. Best of luck. Cheers. -m

Aside from keeping the car, all of those 'downsides' will pay for themselves later in life too!

Hate to say it, but Carolina waitlisted me.....with a not so nice letter.....that basically pissed me off to the point where I did not want to go there......NC State is a much better school for engineering anyways.....one of the best in the nation....

The Rat's Z..."Amen, my son".......Hate to break the bad news, but I'm a girl....hehe......yes thats right...a girl with a sports car...I know what you are thinking...the same exact thing all other males think...that women can't drive, but I assure you that I am a very good driver.....do you really think my dad would've spent 30 grand on a car for me if I cant drive??? lol.....Just Kidding about the "what all other males think"...but most guys that I hang out with think that girls cant drive....and they are right about most girls.....but not me!! LOL

I'm glad I joined this forum. Was beginning to think I was the only girl who cared about cars or could drive properly.

Congrats on the Z, asw24sw. I will be buying myself one when they launch here in England in October. Can't wait.....
