Default (PICS) brake caliper painting

I know most people on here think painting the calipers looks rice, i agree which is why i painted them black to hide the ugly silver rust color. Here are some pics. Only cost me $15 for a kit from autozone

wow man, that looks so sick, and for only $15 it seems like a really good Idea. So all u did was take off your tires and you had no problem painting the whole entire caliper? Nice job btw!

i'll take some pic later on today. yeah all you have to do is take off the tire. Instructions said to take off the brake pads and all that stuff but i just taped around it and painted with them on the car. Took about 2 hours all together. Paint dries in about 10 minutes so by the time you are done one caliper the first part you did is dry enough to 2nd coat.

I painted mine black and the only down side is they disappear in there making the brakes seem smaller than they really are. If I was to do it again, I would go silver.

hahaha the colors i had tochoose from were red green silver black and blue. I may have considered a color other than black but the red on the box looked more orange red than red and the blue looked almost baby blue. So black was my natural reaction. I just tried taking more pictures but with my stock rims on you can't even see the caliper in the picture so sorry guys thats it for pictures

Could you give us some pics of the whole car shot? I'd like to see what it looks like. I kinda do red, but if it's red orange then I guess I'll hold off.

my camera isnt good but the black paint makes the calipers less noticeable which was my game plan since I dont have a pretty BBK. And my car is way too stock

Was it hard to clean them off before painting them? How long did that part take you?

the whole thing only took me about 2.5 hours. I used a steel brush to clean off all the junk then wiped it down with a rag and the kit gives you a spray cleaner which works incredibly, so i sprayed it and brushed and wiped it again. The majority of the time was spent painting since you have to use a brush and i was too lazy to take the caliper off so i had to be very careful

Haha yeah I was going to say it basically disappeared in the photos! Looks clean though. You need some wheels Never seen an Ultra yellow without AM wheels!
