Default Island of Kauai (non Z related)

I was actually surprised how good some of these came out. Tell me what you think. Photoshop was used to enhance many of the images. I also scaled them down for web viewing...

Camera is just a Nikon coolpix 2.1 megapixel... great camera for awesome 4x6 prints.

Me and the girlfriend @ Waimea canyon (sp?)... sort of a mini-grand canyon

Panoramic composite of waimea canyon,

This area features a famous lava tube that acts as a "blow hole" everytime a wave hits the rocks. First pic shows the blow hole in action:

Made some friends on a boat ride out to the gorgeous/amazing Na Pali coast
I am very pleased at how the dolphin pics came out, and love the satin effect of the water surface (second and third pic)

The Beach House restaurant...probably the best restaurant on the island. Great food and check out the ambience:

People getting ready to watch the sunset:

mmmmmm...Mai Tai's, usually the drink of choice in Hawaii. This one was particularly strong with a hefty float of dark rum on top, not to mention a bit of 151:

And the sunset was truly unbelievable:

Finally, amazing pics from a Helicopter ride... luckily the weather was nice and clear.
2nd and 3rd pics featuring the famous and beautiful Na Pali coastline. Possibly the most beautiful coastline in the world??

Nice pics Mike. just goes for show that you don't need a high mp camera to take good shots.

How did you do this?? For me, the foreground would not match up with the background and vice versa.

Please explain!

-Mike

Oh definitely.

More megapixels is only useful if you want to make bigger prints. The downside is you have to buy more memory which gets expensive.

On the 2MP camera, I use just a 64mb memory card which typically holds like 170 pics, plenty for a 1 week vacation...

Is your timeshare through RCI? I stayed at a timeshare too, very close to Kapa'a... frickin awesome way to vacation especially since the points you get for hawaii are pretty valuable.

Our condo was called something like Pahio, Kauai Beach Villas

I believe they called it a "Majestic Mai Tai" ... 3 different rums and fruit juice like passionfruit/guava something along those lines.
