05 Altima SE-R
I'm a new member, so I thought I'd throw up some pics of my car... Its an 05 Nissan Altima SE-R, affectionately dubbed a "4 door 350Z" by the dealer (I'm sure nothing more than a sleazy sales pitch)...
Anyway, I opted for the automatic instead of the 6spd manual (I must be getting old in my mid 20s) but I'm MORE than happy with this car.. Everything is so perfect...
Has a great blend of power, handling, luxury, and comfort.. All packed up into a car that is less than $35000. And lucky for me, I paid less than $25K for it..
Anyway, here's a couple pics...

You might as well call a new civic a 2-door TL

One of the techs at the local dealer here in PA said the same thing. He said he drove an altima SE-R and that it was "the same thing as the Z, just with more interior space". Wow that's ignorant. I'm not coming from a standpoint of "the 350Z is better than the SE-R", but just because two cars have the same basic engine block doesn't mean that they are the same thing. Transmission is different, power output is different, suspension is different, curb weight is different, different, different.
HOWEVER, while I generally detest the Altima, the SE-R is a really attractive car with dcent power output. I hear it accelerates pretty swiftly. If I was in the market for a 4-door the SE-R would be in the top 10 choices. You chose a great color too. Congrats, and again nice car!

Hey guys, thanks for the replies... And I'd like to say (before anyone else gets all uppety)... I know the SE-R and the Z are NOT the same car... I'm just suggesting that its what the dealer said, and I found it amusing.. I know the differences, and they are significant... The one thing that people notice the most about the two is the center 3 gauge cluster... The SE-R has that too (albeit, not the same gauges, but still...... and yes, interior pics will come soon)...
As for my screenname, it was more humor than anything.. Please don't hate!
They are pricey, but honestly, in the class, you either get the same options or the same performance for the price. But, you'll have a hard time getting all the options and performance numbers for the same price. I did my research. The closest match I found for the car was the Acura TL, and its $36K.. Granted, these are all local dealer numbers... Yes, it probably is overpriced, but seeing as how I paid $24,500 out the door with extended warranty ($23K flat for the car with tax/title/license), I feel I got a great deal.. Blue book the day I got it was over $26K. Its still right around $24,800... Sooo, I think I did well..
It definitely does get up and scoot.. Although, being FWD, I feel it is limited.. No worries though, I bought this car for the fact that its really rare, its got some definite performance, and still has some nice luxury... As for the brakes, yes, I feel it should've come with a Brembo option like the Z and Sentra SE-R, but no biggie. The front rotors are larger than the regular Altima, and the front calipers are stiffer. Also, they have SE-R stickers on them (thats gotta be good right there!!)
Lets all not forget one thing.. My last car was a 94 Ford Probe, so this is a SERIOUS step up for me..
As for black dubs, actually, thats my plan.. I'm going with the KMC Dime in 20 x 8.5, black with a polished lip..
Thanks again for the replies!

Heh, thanks guys...
As for 1/4 times, yeah, its respectable for a 4 door. The 6spd guys are putting down low to mid 14s stock, so I figure if I can put down anything in the 14s, I'll be happy.. Hell, its a 4 door, automatic...... 14s isn't bad for a grocery getter..
Custom turbo kit.. Hah.. If I had bought the 6spd, I'd think more about engine mods, but I honestly like it stock. No worries, no need to mess with it.. The stock mufflers are a slip on, so I'm thinking I'm going to make up some straight pipes to replace them, get some more rumble out of this thing, but other than that, I don't really care to do any mods. Of course, its lowered, 20s are coming soon, and then a DVD a/v setup.. thats about it..
I fell in love with the Nissan though, and now I want a 350Z for a play car.. Then I can keep this thing nice and have a Z for a toy to mod and have fun with..

I had an '05 Altima 3.5 SE (250 h.p.) that I traded on the Z. The Altima was a freakin' sweet car and it did run really well. Considered a trade on an SER but in the end theres no denying the sweet Z baby!
Heh, thanks guys... Yes, the ultimate "What if?" would be to see if I could stuff the Z drivetrain (engine, trans, and rear end) into the SE-R...
This car in RWD would be outstanding!!!
And yes, I do not deny the pure lust for the Z, I will have one at some point... I want to keep this my nice "family" car, daily driver, and buy a Z for a toy...
