So my friend and I got took some photos today because my friend "Peter" just got his evo 9 about 3 weeks ago brand new and I haven't had a chance to see it yet so took some photos in the process.

He also took me for a ride in it and this being my first ride in an evo, it felt really nice. When the turbos kicked in it seemed to pull harder then my Z by alot. He evo is bone stock and my mods are listed in my sig for future reference for this post where we do couple of runs.

Here are the photos, we were planning on going to take photos at my old house that is a now vacation rental that had a nice front yard with grass and I thought it was a nice setting for some photos. We didn't get to take them there on the account of my friend didn't have much time to hang out so we made do with this parking lot, Other then that I hope you like the pics.

BTW- If anyone can tell me how to make frame edges for pics off of photoshop that will be nice.
























After words my friend had to leave for work and so I decided to follow him to try and get a couple of runs it. I would have gotten video if I could but there was no one else to tape.

All of these runs were on the side roads of the freeway with absolutely no traffic so we did some rolls and digs.

1st run was from a roll at 30 to 80 - we were about dead even on that thought the gears.

2nd run was another roll from 30 to 80 - I pulled maybe half a car from that run.

3rd run he gets me by 1 car at 80

4th run he gets me again by half acar at around 80.

Then we go a dig which I thought would be the evo's good spot. We started from a dig and I pulled almost 2 cars (maybe less) on him by 80 or 90 mph.

2nd dig - went up to about 90 again and pulled maybe a car.

Had a lot of runs but it was pretty much even wins and losses.

REMINDER - My friend Peter has only had his car for about 3 weeks and he hasn't really launched his car yet so I'm sure his car will rape me when he gets his launches right. All in all it was fun, I've never raced and evo yet so I'm glad it was a friend.

I will try and set up something for video next time for you guys.

BTW - He had about 600 miles on the car so according to the owners manual the car was broken in. Just for the guys that might say "his car wasn't broken in yet so you might have lost more if he was broken in."

350z FTW!

 

It sucked but somewhere between the runs I couldn't power shift anymore. I was power shifting for most of my runs and it seemed it was working effectively, then on a run it just wouldn't go into the gear fast. Was just basically rejecting it and leaving me bouncing off the rev limiter.

I got to watch out soon..... He's getting some exhaust mods soon!!!!!!!!!!! He was telling me the mod he is getting me will add about 30whp! I forgot which mod he specified. I will need to go F/I to be able to even stay with his Asian @ss. That's right peter, you heard me! Lol, J/K.

Man do I wish the Z could make power like that.

Just for laughs I wanted to share with you guys something peter said. He use to have and rsx (Not sure what model) and said it made power easy and I guess some how he was talking about power gains and said that my Z with my I/E/H would make 50 hp easily from those mods! I just laughed and told him he had no idea how wrong he was but I cleared it up for him. Just thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

I made a photoshop of my friends evo IX, what do you think? I just lowered it + Put my GT-7's on it + ****ty painted hood/wing.

 

i broke my evo 9 in at 400 miles. does your friend know that the evo has a 2 step feature? put the car in first gear push down both clutch and gas pedal to the floor and it will 2 step at 5,000rpms. once its doing that let off the clutch a little slowly till u feel the car moving and let her rip! she'll launch off the line like a freakin biatch.

 

Yeah he just found that out. So I wont be able to survive a dig now but I can still get him on the rolls, that is untill he gets some mods.

Since you a have an evo 9 is this true. MY friend posted the same pics from this thread and the runs and their saying that he should have walked all over me in stock form? I don't see how that is because were both good on driving in a straight line and the other evo people are saying that they beat 350z byt 4-5 cars every time in stock form? I think that's bull crap judging by how my friends stock evo was compared to my 350z with only I/E/H.
