so i finally got a chance to play around with the new camera this weekend. i've had it for a week, but i've been busy with school lately. so here are my [literally] first pics with the new camera that i have yet to figure out how to use. all i know is i've only begun to dig myself into another money pit with this hobby.
i'm fairly happy with how the pictures came out (all things taken into consideration - dslr first timer, photography noob, etc.). but i realize that i have a LOT to learn.
oh yeh, the only new things i've done are the hood dampers. there are two pics somewhere down there showing how much more the hood dampers raise the hood.

also...i've learned that shadows are not my friend.

14, 15, & 16 are your best shots, I really like them and the rest are clean. I just bought an XTi and it should be here next week, I have been reading up.

The best thing you can do to improve though is to continually take pictures... of anything and everything. Oh, and did you get the 50mm f1.8? Best lens for the $$$. Or drop 1K and get the 70-200 f4.0 IS. It would make for the perfect car lens... if the location has the space. Image stabilization is a godsend... I'm telling you.

Very nice pics, considering the fact that you're also new to the DSLR game makes them much nicer!
