If you don't like the body kit fine. Just appreciate the car for what it is. The first US factory Nismo Z car every built. The car is not for everyone. Only a few will truly get it. Just don't be jealous when one pulls up beside you........
Why so condescending? I didn't put anyone down who bought it, or who liked it. I just said I didn't like it and explained why. You act like because it's nismo it's the best stuff ever, and nissan can do no wrong. I never said the nismo z didn't have stuff going for it, it has some nice things added over a regular z, but worth the price tag? I don't think so. It probably turns nice out of the factory, but is it the best the car can get/build? I think not, I'm sure all of the components can be improved upon. Remember Nissan isn't just selling to hardcore track people that will only use it there, it has to be nice to ride on the street, that in itself is going to limit what the car is capable of.

All i have to say is wait till you see one in person before commenting on the body kit . Then watch you call up nissan and beg for the body kit . It will happen to some trust me. But some are right different strokes for different folks .

Not some ridiculous body kit that adds 5 lbs of force @ 120mph while mucking up the lines of the car. I don't know about you but I know of plenty of cars that don't have ridiculous body kit setups that will have no problem ripping the nismo z a new one on the track. If they want to incorporate more downforce/diffusers there are cleaner ways to do it than that. Besides how many people you think that are going to buy it are ever going to take it to a road course and utilize that ridiculous looking kit?
You don't your comments above are condescending?

Not at all. I gave an opinion on the car from my perspective. I didn't say you were stupid for buying it, I merely said for me it looks gaudy, and I felt it could have been done cleaner.

I don't have to be an automotive design master to determine that the body kit is hideous, and that it ruins the lines of the car (at least the rear). There are some forum members on here that would buy nismo for the sake of it being nismo, which I think is silly, but hey if it floats their boat more power to them.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. There are plenty of Z's that people here have ruined IMHO with their rim choices, huge subs etc. Difference is I don't go out and belittle their choices or taste. The bottom line is they drive a Z. I have two old school Z's that IMHO are the sweetest looking design ever created. A true ICON of automotive design yet many here don't even realize the connection to the modern 350Z. I think the Nismo Z is a true "Track" model complete with race winning engineering incorporated into the car all for a price less than the convertible 350Z. Out.

Saw one of these in person for the first time last night. To be expected, it looked much better than the pictures I've seen. Besides the looks, a lot of thought and race engineering went into it as well. Anyone who owns one should be proud to drive it.

The rear on the Nismo Z is disgusting. Completely takes away the form & curves of the Z.

I like it...Will the front x brace in the engine bay fit the 03-06 Z? Also the body dampeners can be purchased and installed to a regular z?

I'm not belittling anyone, I know there are other z's out there that in my opinion are ugly, but if they like it to each their own. It is my opinion that the nismo z is hideous and the body kit does not flow well with the rest of the car. There is no doubt the suspension is better than the other factory Zs, but it can be improved upon. The nismo Z is offered starting at 38k, I much rather pay 26 for a base model and put the 12 grand into the suspension/wheels/tires and see the nismo z in my rear view. Like I said, because it is a street car, nissan can't possibly do everything to the nismo z to make it an absolute beast because it still needs to be somewhat comfortable on the street.
