Default Totalled 07' Z

Well, I totalled my 07' Z a little over 3 months ago. I didn't release much info about the wreck due to legalities which are now over, so I decided to post some pics of the damage. Believe it or not, I was going about 150 mph when the accident happened. It could have and should have been a lot worse.

Initial point of impact. Slid into the side fender 90 degrees sideways.

2nd point of impact.

3rd point of impact.

Crappy phone pic from before the wreck.

Nobody was hurt, surprisingly. I was just a little sore for about 3 days. My buddy had some minor neck injury, whiplash. The other person involved wasn't hurt at all to my knowledge, no claim was made to my insurance company anyway.

This was my first accident ever involving another vehicle which I was at fault for. Yes, this was my fault. I was being stupid, of course. I over-estimated the handling of the vehicle at high speeds which caused me to lose control and go into a fishtail. There is a LOT of hidden damage which is why the vehicle was totalled. An expensive lesson to learn, but a lesson learned none the less. It had somewhere around 6,3xx miles on it.

I got another Z 2 weeks later, and I like it more than the first. The wrecked one was a base model. My new one is a Touring. Both are MT, I will not own an AT sports car.

the damage is not that bad for a totaled car. Atleast you got your hands on another one. I prefer the blue over the silver though.

Nice new Z.

I'm sure you will get flamed a ****load... It doesnt change anything though when people flame you... Idk why people flame anymore on these boards its not like you are going to change anything about that person or how they think so its pointless.

**** happens man, I'm sure you have learned from your lesson. Good luck and glad nobody was injured it could have been much much worse.

Let me guess, you were pulling some fast and the furious shiet with another car at 150mph, right? If thats the case then you deserved it.

Yeah, I figure I'll get some flames. But what can I say? Things happen. There isn't a single person in the world who can say that they've never made a mistake. I screwed up in a way that will not happen again.

I posted this as a reminder to everyone that this could happen to anyone.

The other person's car was totalled, that was claimed. I meant that there was no medical claims at all made. So I can only assume that they were not hurt in any way, like myself. My buddy's whiplash was claimed against my insurance. I didn't get salvage rights to the car, so no parts.

I didn't tell anyone I was driving 150 mph until now... I said 90 mph, which is believable from the damage.

so it's ok if you are going 150 mph when you are 30 but not when you are in your teens?

I hope youre NOT planning beating your 150 mph time record you know where that silver will end up, and you could also end up 6 feet under.

Agreed. We recently lost a member that was turning 30 2 days after we lost him. Regardless of the age, this type of driving should stay on the track. Not the streets. Just glad you are ok and hope you did learn. At least your lucky enough to talk about it.

I like how because he's older, he isn't getting flamed at all. But I agree with the fact that flaming doesn't do any good, the most important thing is that you survived without any injuries, and that you've learned your lesson. I was in a similar situation as you about 5 months ago. I had a high speed accident, although I was not purposely trying to push the limits of my car, and came out, amazingly, without a scratch. The Z is really built like a tank, unless you fly off the road and flip over 20 times. I remember after it happened to me all I got was ridicule from friends and family calling me an idiot. Just made me feel like ****, in turn triggering a chain of events that has pretty much ****ed up my life. As long as you learned your lesson, don't listen to what people have to say, and have fun with the new one (not too much fun though).

My governor is removed since I have a reflash. Will I ever test it? Only if they say I have 1 day left to live. Glad you're ok, but watch those crazy speeds, especially when other people are around. We've all done dumb things and learned lessons. I'm sure you learned yours. You own a Z, so keep it clean and shiny... not scuffed and dented.
