Oh yeah, and for ZGiRL, some better pics of me from our band "photoshoot"

Ok, that's enough self-absorption for now...

Nizl/RP_G,

We are going to have to plan a Z meeting at one your gigs later this year. Maybe you could cone off a bunch of parking spaces for all the Z's.

That is his dig at the guy who posted that he thought the Tiburon would be a good substitute for the Z.

The only claim to fame for my hometown (Columbia, SC) with respect to musicians is Hootie & the Blowfish.

Actually, a good friend of mine plays drums for a local band, The Root Doctors. They play as far north as Maryland, and occasionally they sell merchandise from their website from scattered and random places throughout the country. Just wondering if any of you have ever heard of them?

Hey Nizl, what's the name of your band and what type of music do you play?

Right now we're just in San Diego. We play "modernish hard rock", kinda like Alice in Chains/Tool/Faith No More. We've been together about 6 months, recorded a 3-song EP in my home studio, and just played our first "big" gig at the Del Mar Fair.

Anyways, our band's name is Siphon. If you guys want to hear our stuff and/or get a Free CD, go to:

www.siphonband.com

There are MP3's on there, links to get a free copy of our EP, and of course more shameless self-indulgence in the form of pics and bios.

Right now rpgonzalez is on vacation, but when he gets back we're gonna be playing a couple club gigs in Sept, so if you're in SD/LA and like hard rock....

Not bad Nizl. You guys seem to play the type of music I follow most. I've seen Alice in Chains and Faith No More live. Haven't seen Tool but I have all their CD's. Not bad music taste for an old guy like me eh?

Thanks a lot Scaf. I have spent YEARS trying to forget the most PAINFUL period of my life, and you have made me relive it! Back in the 80's before I met my wife, me and the love of my life were together. We thought it was a love that would last a lifetime but alas it was not to be! You see, I had taken her to an EKG concert. I was all set to propose marriage to her under the lights and sultry sounds of the band when BAM! She became STARSTRUCK by the dashing young mustachioed BASS PLAYER for the band. She left me shortly afterward. I was devastated! Through YEARS of therapy, I had been able to forget and to move on. but now..........NOW, You post THAT PICTURE!...................

SCAAAAAAAAAAAAFFFFFFFRAAAAAAAMOOOOONNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

I don't know when. I don't know how. But someday.....SOMEDAY, you'll get yours pal! That's right, you'll get yours! HA.....HAHA.......BOOOOWHHHHHHAAA HAAA HAAAA......BOOOOWWWWAAAAAHHH AHHHHHHA HHHHHHA HHHHAAAAAA!

Thank you. Thank you ladies and gentleman. This has been todays episode of OVERACTING THEATER! Come back again tomorrow for your Wednesday edition! Goodnight and drive safely.

I'm sorry to hear that Bonz.

If it's any consolation...... it happened alot.

There is even a book called

"The Mustachioed Bass Player of EKG - Love Lies Bleeding"

(name the artist from which the second part of the book title comes from)

Man, you guys are a riot. Seriously, you should be a stand-up act or something.

Yeah, nice taste in music Dr Bonz. Most people over about 25 have no idea what a "Faith No More" was. Glad you like our stuff. PM me your address and I'll send you a free CD of our stuff if you're interested...

NIZL The address has been PM'ed. Thanks for the free tunes.

I saw Faith No More back in 1992 when I was a senior (4th year) orthopedics resident. They were opening for Metallica and Guns and Roses. It was the same tour (actually only a few weeks before) that James Hetfield almost had his arm blown off by an errant pyrotechnic explosion. When FNM was playing it started to rain (it was outdoors in Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh...since BLOWN UP SIR!). The roadies quickly tried to cover all the pyro stuff with this thick clear plastic. When the singer (I think his name was Mike Patton?) saw this he immediately climbed into it and started thrashing around in it while continuing to sing. The roadies were pissed! That was an awesome concert. I was about 15 rows from the stage in the center.
