I have a bit of extra money and its so hard to decided what to do with it. I wanted to get a set of used black or gold sf challenges and I had an interesting thought. I decided to photoshop what black ones would look like with a custom paint job....here it is...I kinda like both of them but am I crazy enough to do it

 

What about the gold/black combo, bust reverse the colors. Gold spokes with black lip? That might look pretty cool

 

I had thought about that...just need to find a good pic of gold sf's to chop.

Don't do it. Just be normal and go with gold/polished lip.

 

I think the red would look sick.

 

Powdercoat the whole rim flat black but leave the exterior perimeter squares and the volk racing text brushed....

interesting ideas...thought I would have to definetly go to someone that is reliable when it comes to power coating volks.

 

The gold looks really interesting. I can't tell from the pictures, but if you wanted to go that route I would stick with keeping the outside of the lips with a gold stripe and having the lip itself stay black. Don't go gold or red with the whole lip.

Gloss black Challenges with a matching lip coupled with that gold would look great if it was done professionally, in my opinion.

 

Looks like someone has been having the same ideas. The lips on my wheels are getting bad in the rear, and I have been thinking about doing a anodized black lip for some time now. Here is some ps I did a few days ago to get an idea. I look forward to your outcome OP.

 

Looks great to me, Rob... what do you think about doing the gold on the wheels like the guy's picture above? Gold looks great on the MB, imo... the gts for instance look excellent.

If you stayed with the look above, why not go with a silver stripe along the rim to set it apart from the tire?

Yeah, its a design in process. The guy I would go to can actually add any color I want to the anodize. I would really like to attain a chrome black look to the lips. Only time will tell...lol

 

That would be really nice, but I've seen different types of "chrome black"... some just look like "dirty" chrome while others look like a super-high gloss black.

 

Black spokes with gold lip would look great! Just go for matte black spokes and a nice gold for the lip and inner parts of the centers.

transparent gold with the matching gold calipers.
