Default First go at flash photography!

Just trying to learn how to use off camera flash gear. I still need some wireless triggers and a second flash plus a few stands but im just having ago with the one light for now.

Comments??

Also i few diffuser pics in there for people thats did not see it at the mod day.

chick shoulda been out of the car.....but beside that not bad, what kinda camera and lens are you running?

take more where you cant see the flash. All the light from the flash is taking over the picture.

not gonna lie, but that looks real dam good, esp the 2nd shot...not bad man is that the top secret diffuser?

Buy the wireless triggers... and some cheap flashes... The BEST option IMO as far as shoe-strobes (portable flashes) is the Vivitar 285HV. It's the only one that has variable output power that is in production.... although I prefer to use the discontinued Sunpak 383 Super.

If you are getting the 285HV, and choose Elinchrom Skyport for triggers, you'll need a special sync cord from Flash Zebra.... the 285HV wont trigger with a regular cord and Skyport combo.

Your results will get better as you learn how to use the flash. I recommend reading "Light, Science and Magic" to understand light and how it relates to photography in general.

+1 imo you could use another flash... i think 3 really works best for automotive.
