Hmmm, been driving here for over 50 years....but in the last 15 or so the roads have really improved, what with new materials and more efficient ways to resurface.

I can be on some great secondary roads with all kinds of elevation changes and curves within 5 minutes of my home...very little traffic too.

Been in Orlando area for winters and roads seem straight and crowded.

The hills just north of you around Clermont are OK, but they pale in comparison to curvey roads around here.

I now spend winters in Palm Desert CA...roads and scenery are super.

Which handles better the boxer or Z ? I autocross also, but I am not very skilled at it, so I do a lot of drifting. Also an old geezer at 45. Most Z owner are 17.

At the limits the Boxster is better, no doubt.....but the thought of another engine failure made me go Japanese.

I like the Z...and am learning it's handling.....It's a very good car for the money.

The last autocross I was at, a Boxer had one of the best times. But I attributed that to a experienced driver more than the car. I agree with you, for the money the Z is better. Also maintenance is easy on the Z where as the Boxer you cant even see the engine. I am aspiring to become a better driver. Have an autocross scheduled for this Sunday, I am debating wheter I should go or not because I am on call for work. I usually go out with the Cincinnati Miata club. Great bunch of people.

Old geezer here too. I'll be 66 this November and I've been driving various sports cars for about 50 years.

Default update....Enkeis installed

...square setup with 8.5x18s and 245/45 Dunlop Star Spec UHP rubber.

Autocrossed this weekend and was very pleased with results. The turn in is much improved and these Star Specs are almost as sticky as real R tires.....but I don't have to change them to go home and use them thoughout the summer.

+1 on the star specs. I have run 2 events on then know and it has helped me 2-3 seconds over stock tires, depending on the length of the course. Plus square setup helps reduce the understeer. Now I am much more competitive.
