No mate, Its a rover metro 6R4. It runs a turbo'ed 3L jaguar V6 designed from the XJ220 super car motor! QUICK CAR!

Where exactly is this event?

The build pics on that evo is insane....They mounted the engine longitudily, nice exhaust too!

 

That should be an MG running with a Ford V8-N/A (I think the V8 was supplied by Ford)... There's a clip of it on an old Top Gear ep from a few years back, something like 350+HP.

EDIT: Those Turbo charged Hayabusa's are insane... 200+ mph rockets in seconds...

 

I was there too, the event is at Elvington Airstrip near York, UK.

It was quite chilly, ideal for some great 1/4 mile times, many many 9's. Most of these cars are supposedly all road legal with road legal tyres too.

Yep its an MG (MG X Power SV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_XPower_SV) When MG went bust they went for some bargain prices...

 

(Visiting this thread again, sorry)

It's a shame MG went under, word is this was an exceptional car & a possible threat to the current crop of supercars. Cant go wrong with full CF body and near perfect 50/50 weight.

Who owns the current rights to the MG brand now? If anyone knows?
