I got the Sigma 8-16mm when it was first released, and only now have gotten time to test it. You can squeeze alot of the interior into the shot, or you can created even more unique, distorted shots. I can't wait to try some portraits with this.

For you photographers, CS5 already supports this lens in it's specific lens correction option in Camera Raw. It fixes distortion, as well as vignetting. Sharpness is on par, if not better than my Tokina 11-16, though not as fast aperture wise, so I'm gonna have to keep both for specific situations. CA is amazingly well controlled also. Of course, for full framers, this is the APS-C equivalent to the Sigma 12-24.


You can see, especially in this shot, just how crazy 8mm is. Check out how it pulls even the cubby and pod guages into a shot directly in front of, and close to the steering wheel.


In the driver's seat, you can get you shift ****, all the way to your pod gauges. Architectural photogs should be all over this.

No, a fisheye lens is very noticeable when you use it... compare with the Tokina 10-17 fisheye. The straight objects near the edges are noticeably curved. A rectilinear wide angle lens keeps these lines straight.

It's not a dash kit, it's a vinyl overlay called Di-Noc made by 3M.

Here's the thread that introduced this stuff to the community, though most are using an alternative called "neffy wrap." Differences? Neffy is a fabric and you use an adhesive to apply it. Di-Noc already has the adhesive applied. You peel the backing and apply. It's also vinyl-like. Both have textures.
