what i have been up to past few months
so i haven't posted on the forums in so long. bought a house in October, so that was stressful and eventful all at the same time. i got married in January, so that was stressful and eventful all at the same time! but this is a car forum! 4 days before my wedding i was driving the z because i knew it was going to be months more before i could again. here in massachusetts we had the most snow in history. and it all happened in a few weeks. so i went to pick up my tux and go to the gym in the z. and this happened....
insurance totaled it then dragggggggged their feet getting me money. but lucky for me i was on my way to mexico for 2 weeks. and when i came back i had a truck to use for work so i didnt really care about how long it took. then in april i found this 03 turbo with 50k
two weeks later and not even 200 miles put on the car
lost all oil pressure on the highway... spun.. a.. f***ing.. bearing.. previous owner guaranteed that everything was mint because he just rebuilt it and replaced all the bearings...... so let the rebuild begin!
DAY ONE! just disconnecting everything to free the motor.
DAY TWO! pulling the motor and getting as much off as possible
PLUS LOOK WHAT CAME IN!
BACK TO WORK!
THEN WE FOUND THE CULPRIT!
WE SAW THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL SO WE KEPT AT IT!
ALL PACKED AND READY FOR THE MACHINE SHOP!
stay tuned for more...

Glad to see the progress. Good thing you didn't put it on the dyno that day.

i have a friend that has done this for a sentra SE-R, two evos, and a RX7 in the last year. he knows his ish.
i know i know! i was so excited because the car was in mint condition with 50k on it. having the turbo helped too. talking with him i thought he knew what he was talking about. rookie move on my part, but once it's all said and done ill be happy with what i have!

Impressive. As I scrolled through the pics of your build, I kept thinking that it looked like you did all of that in one day.

I used a dremel wire-wheel at a slow speed to clean up old RTV off the block - as long as your careful, don't gouge and keep your rotational speed low it does an amazing job. I went through 3 wheels so buy an extra one (or two) when you pick them up.
