D1 Coverage
D1GP made it's way to Irwindale Speedway for the second time yesterday. All I can say is the event was a huge success once again, here are some pics that I took at the event... enjoy! If you get the good old red X it's because my server is down, just try again in a little bit. Just a little FYI... besides adjusting the color, I didn't edit the actual pictures in any way. =)
... and the event winner (Kei-Office S15) and runner up (HKS S15).

The GT Viper wasn't in the competition. He came in at the start of the show to get the crowd going. The Viper was driven by "Tarzan" Yamada...a famous drifter/race car driver from Japan. According to the announcers, it had to be re-tuned and suspension tweeked a little just so it could drift correctly on that small circuit. He was getting scary close to those walls and by the 6th run or so he did a little love tap on the wall and the crowd went wild. The sponsor/owner didn't look too happy.
I gotta admit though, watching that Viper go around that track was almost surreal. It looked like a runningback doing sprints in a small backyard.
There were other American racers ( most of them getting into the biggest crashes and fender benders by the way) and they drove mostly Nissans.
