You only own 350z, not some exotic. Get over it.
i watched the judges the last time, they got up in it and act if it was der ride. which judges have put fingers all a persons car before. at the last event i was just a spectator so really didnt care, but to the owner(s) im sure they did not like it too much. i say for a simple solution for a great smooth show, just have the judges be aware and ask and im sure it will be all good IMO .
to u it may be a z, but when some ppl z's is near 80 - 90K or high in classic car value im sure u will treat it like an exotic LOL. i would just be a lil more considerate

What a judge does in a Z car show because it's not a normal car show, its a car show about Z's.
They have to check to make sure things work. Like the dome light, the sunglass holder, and nothing is broken. That gets points knocked off. They do sit in your car to reach items. Z car shows are about if everything works and if it's restored properly, etc. Other car shows like the ones you mentioned they don't even look at that stuff and don't care. IMHO not as good as the Z shows in detail. At this show they even look under your car to check the exhaust to make sure its not rusting at the muffler.
If anyone spent that much on the Z, they need to seek financial advice.

oh yeah some those car shows wouldn't look under a vehicle. i know some do for sure. good example lowrider show is really ****. i think its cool that they take it that far as to check out if things work and so on IMO. it's too bad not all shows do that. from the last event i had a lot of fun so i thinks its pretty neat show. especially the free grub LOL.
u might step on some ppl's toes with that qoute... I know for sure those who went FI route knows oh too well about the cost of FI..that's not inlcuding all the extras they put into interior and exteriors. even some of the cost of the 300zx's to fix up or repair in that matter. Also for the guys that totally restores classic Z's. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know the cost that is envolved. so some may spend that much some still may spent a good grip.

Oh well. It was all good until you see the judges touching the cars. Some people didn't mind, but if you spend time cleaning your car, the last thing you want to see are finger prints! Get real judges and I will return. Touching is just unacceptable. Moving the seats around and banging on the dash trying to find the "glove compartment" is not how I would expect a judge to "judge" my car.
And last year, Jr and I both wanted to be in the daily driven class, since we both drive our cars. They were not having it. Good luck with that fight Jr. Let me know how it turns out.

Sorry to hear that. I was not at the show last year so I can't comment on what happened. However in our club show in SA the judges had to get into the car to properly judge the interior. Part of the judging requirements is for the owner to open the glove box, trunk, hood, gas lid, etc.. so the judges do not have to. Some judges won't open it and will just deduct points if they are closed. I would suggest that if you do come to the show you be by your car during the judging and make sure everything is open for the judge including the door.
As far as DD vs. Modified. In our Z show in SA you can enter your car in either, it doesn't matter how many mods you have. However if you enter the DD your engine will not be judged and thus you are not eligible for the Best in Show award. I am not sure how the Houston Club will handle it this year but maybe we can get someone from there to respond. I'll forward your concerns to the club and maybe they can come up with a solution.
Quick point about interior judging. This car lost it's category by a very small margin because the interior light did not work:
It really does come down to who is juding your car as to how meticulous they are when going over it.

Wow I can see why you would be pissed off. That shows me that the judge was not only inconsiderate but had no business being a judge. I have never been to a show were a judge removes anything off the car. You judge what is visible-at most move the seats, open a door but to remove fluid/battery covers is just crazy.
BTW-As a judge you are supposed to remove your belt, watch, rings basically anything that can scratch the car. You treat the persons car with consideration no matter if it's an old rust bucket or a new 350Z.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be there and be a guest judge.
I plan on taking a **** before the judging and not washing my hands...
I will then get inside your car and attempt to fiddle and break anything that is nice.
Thank you for your cooperation..

All I will say, is if you don't like the way they RUN the show, then don't go. I may have been a a$$ in that one post with that comment, but I got a bit defensive at some of the remarks made by a few people. So I apologize for that comment. It was obvious that a few of you weren't going to the show anyways.
