Honestly i think its complete BS that its in Dallas but that my opinion. They shouldnt of posted on Facebook about the fans per city. but ill still be going to the show. And i bet at the show it will be predominately houston cars.

L.A. #1 right now, Chitown #2, but we are goin there already, Texas slides into #3 spot overnight so Texas ...keep it up, Florida / Atlanta close behind. Where's the Northeast? Where's the Northwest? Represent!

RPM is going to be choosing the next city to bring their tour to.
If you guys aren't familiar with how they will be choosing their next location. RPM is basing it off their Facebook sign up's so "Become A Fan". Become A Fan & Rep your city on their fan page. The most entries from an area by July 10th get's next crack at RPM event series.

Looks like most people assumed that "Area" meant city.

I am ok with this being in Dallas .... We just had IR and mother effin Smokey Nagata here in Houston. Gotta spread the love around a little bit, but I agree Houston will probably be the dominate force at this show. Oh well, gives me a reason to go to Dallas and hang out with friends.

I can guarantee you my team will more than likely not go. I'm not going to speak for everyone, but will take a good stab at it. Especially given the work Junior put into marketing this to the locals...

Yall talking bout me?
I will make every effort to be at this event. 1. it's an out of town show, and I always have fun at out of town shows. 2. Though they didn't bring it to Houston, I do appreciate the fact that they are bringing it close enough. Only reason why I say maybe is cause I plan on being in Dallas at end of the month for another event. Also plan on going to Cabo San Lucas weeks before this show and so money may be tight.
I for one am tired of all the whinning and bi tching about how shows don't show Texas love, yet people are now still bi tching and complaining that it's not in Houston. I don't see people out on the west coast or east coast complaining that they have to drive a couple of hours to get to a show. Shiet to me, the drive up is part of the fun!!!

<-- Whining and bishing.
It cost alot of money/effort to travel out of town for shows. Time off work, gas, hotel accomodations, eating expense. It's not exactly a drop in the bucket to do these out of town shows. Houston people of complaining, because we represent in large numbers at all the shows in surounding areas. We're one of the largest cities in the country, and we bring large numbers to these events. So when the Houston people are given the opportunity to have a local show and we rise to the occasion, only to have the show hosted by another city, yes it strikes a nerve with some.
For the reasons I listed above, I do not believe it's a factor of individuals complaining about not having shows in Texas or having to travel. I believe it's more of a factor of seeing a promising hope of our city becoming a host for a new show, rising to the occasion, finally given a long awaited break from all the traveling expenses, then having the show not delivered. I believe that's enough to touch a nerve with anyone my friend.
In all honestly, I'm neither here nor there. I'm happy with what shows we have and I already know that for some of the shows that do exist, I will have to travel. So there's no argument there. It is what it is and I can choose to stay home or go. I have no real feeling towards the outcome and placement of this RPM show. I'm speaking more on terms of logic and how the general concensus would probably feel. I could be wrong, but that's the educated guess I'm taking...

To each their own.
I'm not exactly pleased with RPM choosing Dallas over Houston considering we did as we were asked and signed up for their Facebook. However, it's close enough. I don't know the circumstances that prevented them from coming to Houston. I do know that there is a competing show at the end of the month and RPM did their best to not hold their show on that same weekend. So even if they had a venue here in Houston that was available, it's possible it would have conflicted with that event. Then there is football pre-season rolling around the month of September which would take up the Reliant Arena as a possible venue. That doesn't leave very many weekends left to hold an indoor show here in Houston. Not sure why George R. Brown wasn't available.
Yes Houston, does represent a large number of the show cars that are present at the shows. However, the entrance fee is a drop in the bucket in terms of regaining the cost of putting on a show. The crowd is what producers of shows bank on to turn a profit. And, I'll be the first to admit that Houston, hasn't exactly done a bang up job of turning out spectators to these events. I'm not saying that Dallas will do a better job of turning out spectators, but they have proven in the past that they show up, ex. HIN showing up long after they left Houston and DUB show Dallas moving forward where Houston's show was cancelled.
I am in the same boat as everyone else in terms of cost and effort to attend an out of town show. I do however, view these out of town trips as a vacation from the daily grind. Hotel cost haven't been too bad because I'm willing sleep on a chair with 10 other fools in the room if that's what it takes to lessen the cost of room. Mickey D's dollar menu all weekend long if I have to. To me these are small sacrifices to make. I'm an enthusiast through and through. I could care less about winning at these events. Its about being around other car guys, seeing little kids excited about seeing cool cars. To me it's about the camaraderie and the fun to be had, not the trophy. As for the drive, well that's half the fun.

Hopefully this helps. In collaboration with RPM events, Tunerlifestyletv is raffling away 20 spectator passes and 4 car show entries for San Mateo and Dallas lifestyle events. In addition, 2 more cars will be chosen to show under Tunerlifestyletv's 10x20 booth, free registration.
Free RPM Tickets for Dallas and San Mateo
As usual we will be providing official video coverage for RPM. As a media company we try our best to look out for the enthusiast and must remain neutral in such matters. Hope some of you can come out and support. I already begun producing the video and will be using some new equipment.
