Had an absolute blast sliding all over the place on my all season Hankooks, too, guess it's time to start dumping money into it, lol.
Lol...so true Dustin (sp ? ) You will have to get yourself an extra set of wheels and more if your gonna keep this up. It's really not too much cash....you just have to do things in order to help your cause.

I see that the "White 2008 Honda Ruckus 50 #161" which was actually the same car as "Grand Prix White 2008 Honda S2000 #16" didn't get moved out of class 3 and then the other car in class 3 with me and Michael Eason in the Black Camaro didn't even show a car and I don't ever remember seeing any car #19 run all day??

I'm just saying ... it's nice to be in third place and all, but not when the guy in first place should be in the S2k class and the guy in second place seemed to materialize out of thin air!

So let's see if I got everyone:

Best times of the day:

GWord256 - Z - 52.037
fithamoto - Z - 54.015
BeerViper - G - 55.608
silverc10 - Z - 56.210
ppat1989 - Z - 57.146

The weather was definitely epic, chilly in the morning and mid-70's in the afternoon. Awesome time as usual, great to have a group to hang with before, lunchtime, and after the event!

As always it was good seeing the z/g participation. Car 19 was Terry Fair in the vorshlag 5.0 mustang. He took over someone's registration and that's the confusion with that. Here are a few videos. First is of my fastest raw time, wish I would have bothered to clean it up instead of just trying to see how much liberty I can take with the new car.

Second is an example of things not to do on your last runs at an autocross.

Duston..or Dusty as I have on my reg for the s2k club, I go by each equally as of late. I'll be part of the way to wheels at least once somebody comes and gets the second set I had for my tC. Craigslist to the rescue.

I'm thinking the new second set won't be quite as cheap as those 215/40 Falkens were.........

Okay I definitely remember the 5.0 Mustang - but what about the "Honda Ruckus" that was actually an S2k that shoulda been in the S2k class? That bumps me into 2nd place in my class!

Love the videos! That was a FAAAAAAAAST run! Wish my car would turn like that

It is my understanding that Scott wasn't sure which car he was gonna be driving so he signed up for class 3. Also I think the NTAXS rules allow you to sign up for a harder class if you want, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Plus I hit a cone on that run, and then over drove my last runs, so it was not really that fast. I still need more seat time to make sure I can do runs like that on the first run every time.

If anyone is looking for more seat time besides me there is a Texas time trialsl event this coming weekend I would recommend as well.

Correct, you can sign up in a class higher than your class. An S2000 on street tires and without forced induction, if not in the S2000 class, would be in Class 2, so they can run it in Class 3, if they want.

Alright then Duston, welcome and it was nice to have you in our little group. Please remember next time or next event we usually all pitch in and bring stuff for a lunch...so your always welcome to grub down with us...even if you didn't bring anything....there's always plenty of food to go around.

Yeah....you got to ask around to see what the best tire for you will be. If your going to change class and get some r-comps or stay on streets.

I wanna stay on the streets...but will be close to slicks. Hankook RS3 or Toyo R888's.

I believe R888s have a treadwear less than 140, so most clubs do not consider them as street tires.

The RS3s are great in the hot summer. They have a ton of grip. So far, mine are holding up well, too.

I love the Toyo R1R, but they wear fast.

If you are looking for a single tire for both daily driving and autocrossing, then it is hard to beat the Dunlop Star Spec.

I have heard really good things about the Dunlop start - spec's, but I heard they were expensive also.

Yes the toyo's are under a 140 rating...I forgot. I have read really good things about them tho.

Most likely I will end up with the Hankook's. Seems to be the best of both world there....however I don't plan on using them for DD'ing.

Dunlop Direzza Star Specs - Cost Arm - Excellent Tire
Bridgestone RE11 - Cost Leg - Excellent Tire
Michelin PS2 - Cost First Born - Better than Excellent Tire (so I hear)
Nitto Invo - Cost Reasonable - Just ok
Kumho Ecsta XS - Cost Reasonable - Just ok

I've never ponied up the dollars to buy the PS2's They go for about 350$ each but everyone says they are orgasmic.

They all have over 140 wear.

What about Falken Azebis RT615/RT615K. I've heard good reviews on those but have never tried them and I believe they are reasonably priced. I think Robert (rfortier) uses them. I don't know if he's ever tracked with them though.
