EVENT 3 VQ AutoX Championship @ TMS April 16
PS2's are not really all that great. I would take the star specs over them any day of the week. In terms of performance....RE-11, Star Spec's, RS3, and AD08's and R1R's are all excellent. The R1R has the softest compound, but has a short life. Rs3's also have a soft compound and handle heat well, but the sidewall is not very stiff and it seems to suffer a bit on heavier cars. The Star Specs, RE-11, and the AD08's might be a haif off on pace, but do everything well and last the longest.
The PS2 and RT 615k are a step down from the other 5.

I've never been a big fan of Nitto street tires (the NT01's are great though). I only know of a handful that run them, and they suffer a lot of the issues that plague the RT615's. They don't handle heat well and suffer from a soft sidewall.
I was running with Nitto Invo's on the front last weekend and they really couldn't hold the curves very well. Very screachy. Wasn't impressed with the Falken 452s on the rear either. I guess they did ok but were also very screachy. If there was some award for the loudest tires I'm pretty sure I'd be at the top.
Biggest thing I learned from my 1st autox... Turn off the VDC for daily driving unless the roads are wet! That thing was coming on all the time and I just thought that was a good (safe) thing. Now I feel way more confident (and safer) with it off.

Hahaha....Dude....I always turn my TCS off ! It's like a reflex that happens after I turn the ignition key on....I reach down to hit the VDC/TCS off.....unless it's wet out on the roads.
You gonna register for the May 14th event at Mineral Wells ? It is a much better track and much longer. We can do a grill out....I have a portable grill.
Registration is now open so do it quick as it will fill up.
I see. I was just curious as I have nt05's on the back and nt555's on the front but I'm by no means qualified to campare tires lol. The nt555's I have have been plagueing me with understeer at the last two autocross' especially at tms. The nt05's are grippier but still wanted to spin quite a bit at tms especially when I was launching off of the start and they are significantly worn after only two autocrosses and about 3000 miles or so of daily driving.

Pat, those Hankook V12's are very good for both DD & Auto X if your gonna drive on them everyday. If your not gonna be able to get a second set of wheels & tires for a while....I would just get something that will get you by in the Auto-X for a bit while you DD on them. Just chalk it up to seat time. These Hankooks have been the best tire I have driven on since I bought the Z.
