OK, I am unfortunately out of the dinner. Family issues that had to be addressed in NC this weekend. I apologize, let me know all the details that are discussed so that I will be ready to go for TOD on Friday. Again, enjoy dinner, and keep me up to date.

Well....Jess and I made it...You bunch of slackers!!!
Anyway, here's the scoop:
We're gonna meet in MANASSAS at 4:00 and roll-out at exactly 4:15. I know it's early, but with an hour or so for stops along the way, the drive will be 10 hours at least. That should put us in Fontana at around 2:30. That gives us time to check in and get to wherever the Dr. Bonz detailing seminar is (or for those of you who plan on living on the dragon, it will give you time to mount cameras, etc, and get some driving in before dinner.)
We haven't picked a specific place in Manassas yet, but it will be some place close to an I-66 exit, just for convenience. I'll tool out there tomorrow and get an exact location.
We will go out 66 to 81 and south from there. I know we'll have at least one NAV system in the caravan, but I will bring copies of the mapquest map and directions for everyone's reference. I will also bring the cell-phone list as it stands now. We will need a minimum of 3 sets of 3-way radios for the trip, and possibly 4 once we join up with the Richmond guys (I have one set that I will bring). I am also bringing a pair of emergency contact sheets that everyone should sign. The sheets will be kept by two different drivers just to avoid a "single point of failure" if something goes wrong.
We've beat the "what should you bring" topic to death, but I know Jess and I are bringing a basic tool kit and some cleaning supplies. Other than clothes, everything else is probably 'at your discretion'.
As for Toby and anyone else coming from the Richmond area, I personally think it would be faster for you guys to go down 85 through Raleigh and Winston-Salem and pick up 40 from there. But, if you want to meet up with us, you can either go out 64 (which is generally Northwest and will make your drive longer than necessary), or you can go out VA-60 (which is clearly a more minor road, so it could end up being slower), I'll leave it to your knowledge of the area to pick which one is best.
If you opt to travel 64 west and meet us in Staunton, you would need to be in there NLT 6:30. Mapquest indicates that from Manassas to Staunton is about 2 hours, 15 minutes.
If you choose VA-60, you'd need to be at I-84 and VA-60 by about 7:15. Looking at the map, this looks like your least desirable choice, but let us know what you'd like to do and we'll plan accordingly.
Can anyone think of anything that we're forgetting? ....Oh, please show up in Manassas with a full tank of gas and be ready to roll. The 15-20 minutes will really throw off our timing if we're trying to meet the Richmond contingent.
