I still think we should do it .. I mean there are plenty of nice strecthes of roads somewhat through the city ...
We may not be a WOT very often but its a "for show" drive ... so drive slow and show... some of us are very good at that..

If we are going to get a good deal of participation then I would say we still do it. I know that through the direct city things are going to be rather confusing and congested. We have other routes, GW Parkway, FFX County Parkway, and so on. So I do believe the drive is still possible, but like I said I wouldn’t expect anything spirited. Remember we are showing our appreciation for the veterans, not on our way to a winding road or a test and tune. With the amount of people that are interested I think we should keep it a go…

I am curious though as the pros and cons with Sunday vs Monday… anyone want to chime on this?

Well, I still want to do the drive (especially since I just spent $50 on flags for everyones cars). While I would agree that the city proper might be difficult to navigate, a cruise that ended up in Arlington Cemetery might still be nice. Who cares if it we spend a fair amount of time in the lower gears. You're right, the point is to get out and have a little "Z fellowship" on the roads and pay our respects to our fallen protectors. I say we drive.

My only reason for wanting to do it on Monday is that the Indy 500 is on Sunday and it's one of the few racing events a year that I set aside time to watch (even if it is open wheel NASCAR). Tony Kanaan is on poll right now with a 227 MPH lap. Sheeeeeit.

whatever you guys decide to do, I will be up in the city (w/o the Z only if I somehow find an engine core in good shape in the next week) regardless to visit my buddy at Arlington.

can I drive my blue cavalier? haha. If there's a part-a, as Juan puts it, then I'll be around. But, I'm too embarrassed to be rolling in a pos while being around a bunch of z's.

HOT DOGS!

Me stupid...I have hot dogs on the brain now Chris. That's a good idea, didn't think of it. Hmmm...all depends on what day and what time now, since my brother is in town for Sun. Hopefully I'll be around.

If you all think you're going to be able to drive into DC down near the monuments, plan on sitting in absolute gridlock for 2+ hours. Traffic simply doesn't move, and I'm pretty sure there will be significant street closures. Having lived only several blocks from the Vietnam Memorial, I can assure you that there is no room to spare. Sorry to be a downer here guys, but it's the honest truth.

I may be available to meet up with some of you all (the few that I know... haha), but I probably won't be able to bring my Z since it's near the 36K mark and it needs several warranty issues addressed.
