anybody interested in going? i'd probably drive down there saturday early morning and then stay a night at a hotel and play on sunday, then come home..
so, anybody want to go?

Glad to hear you're coming down.
Now, calling Pungo an airforce base is quite a stretch. It's an old WWII airfield that hasn't seen an airplane in quite some time. It's now an antennae farm, mulch repository and a dozen other things. The concrete slab we run on is about the size of a football field (without the end zones.) The concrete is grippy, so bring lots of tread! The spectator area is a grassy (and muddy depending on weather) field, so bring your own chairs. The weather is calling for warm and sunny, so bring sunscreen. For vids of runs at the site, visit http://www.autocross.us and go to the videos forum.
The closest hotels are at the VB oceanfront, but the season is now on, so rates are way up. If you're looking for something sub $100, let me know and I'll give a list of reasonable hotels within 20 miles.
There are a bunch of us in ODR-SCCA from the local Z Club (TZCC) and we'll probably be getting together Saturday evening for dinner and whatever. Any Z enthuseist is welcome to join us for that.
Let me know what other info might be useful.
If you enjoy your trip this weekend, plan on coming back for the SEDIV event at NAB Little Creek this fall. The concrete there is vast and in prestine condition. It's hands down one of the best venues for Auto-X anywhere.

Nick,
ODR allows you to run in STU. That'll give you a great PAX for the event.
First, register at www.odr-scca.org to get your number, then go to www.myautoevents.com to fill out the rest of your personal data. The two part process is required right now because of our transition to a new PC based scoring system.

If you Auto-X in Richmond, then you probably know Audi and Jeff Chennery or Donna a Keith Marx. I'm pretty sure at least one of those couples are coming down from Richmond, so you might be able to caravan and bunk with them.

lol, Todd was trying to convince me to run B Street Prepared (the cusco is pretty quiet once you put some power into it, but I doubt i'd get away with it
)i think i might only be there on saturday, so I might miss you, but if you're there on sat, i'll definintely see you.
