Default Local Advice: High Flow Cats vs. Exhaust

Just figured I'd narrow my question and ask the local folks -- Looking to better my exhaust sound and performance overall, and wanted to get y'all's initial reaction.

Read that high-flow cats are probably the better way to go, especially since aftermarket exhausts don't do much and cost a lot. But again, just wanted to double-check.

What y'all think?

Well, each one is going to make its' own change. They will both give you a more aggressive exhaust note. If you combined the two (like I did), you'd probably get exactly what you're looking for. The benefit of exhaust is that it's a visual mod, too.

I would do high flow cats before the exhaust .. if not changing the exhuast isnt going to change the fact your cats are very restrictive ...also if you want use test pipes but after you put an aftermarket exhaust on with test pipes be prepared for some loud *** stuff!!!

yeh, kinda like the stock exhaust look, and am leaning towards the high-flows. don't really want some loudass sound, but something just a bit more aggressive, with a bit of a performance bump.

any advice on which high-flows to buy? seen a few being sold on the boards, including your's kelly (I think that's your name)

Doing both at the same time also saves time. And time = money. Especially for us mid-atlantic folk who get paid to sit on these forums all day.

go with the cats but if you're looking for overall performance, do the exhaust w\cats..the test pipes will most likely be to0 loud for you. my exhaust and cats are slightly deeper than stock..

I really like my Random Technologies cats. They've held up well, they're not raspy, and have a very aggressive sound. Mine are already sold to NVthis350 when they come off the car, though.
