I'd definitely check ASAP if there's anything that can be done under warranty, even though you're just out of it...

I'd get it repaired or replace it. You have a great looking car on the outside and inside. If you gut the thing out on the inside, it's gonna look like poo. Are you planning on calling it quits on the showing and just turning it into a track car? Do you really get enough track time to warrant having a car that suits an activity you're only doing like 2% of your time during the year? I cringe everytime I think of walking up and looking into your car and seeing sheet-metal....but that's just me.

Well.. when I do pull the interior.... the dash will be left in place. where the radio goes I will cut a CF piece to fit.. then lay in some gauges. The door skins will come out, but also be replaced with a flat Carbon Fiber sheet that I will cut. I figure that the cage will be painted... I'd have the interior painted to match the exterior. I think it would still show well, because it would be different. NO BLING in a SEA of BLING can make an impression too ... I'd never put a big boomy stereo in there ... even if it was free to me.

Back to the original issue. Not really planning on doing that yet ---^.. and was hoping to have one more summer with the stock stereo. ... I might take it into the dealer and see if they want to play nice.. seeing as we just bought another Nissan (Julies Murano) from there 2 weeks ago.

I did have an A/M stereo system. An extra small speaker was installed just for the voice guidance. I also have the stock system even though I dont have a Z anymore. Buy me a case of beer and it is yours.

I believe it is the 6 cd's. It has the 6 selections at the bottom. I am sure it is for the radio preset stations but it must be for the cd's too. Anyway the reference is CY330. It is not from Bose. It's Clarion made for Nissan but if you want it, let me know.

I'd yank it and go all aftermarket....and if you're concerned about weight just get a HU and four speakers. The dealer might be able to help you though, nobody at Nissan knows your milage....yet!

Why bother with a cage unless you actually track your car?

For DE duty, then just stick with a 4pt. Once you move up to a full cage, it's more troublesome than it's worth unless you tow it.

I know some instructors won't get into a car with a 4 pt harness and no roll-cage. The crush hazard on the roof combined with being strapped into an upright position is just a dangerous thing.
