actually I did all the prep work. I will post a comprehensive description of how I did it complete w/ progress pics after I install it tonight. But short answer is yes, the texture needs to be sanded down.

Jack and I had a fight when I was younger where he severely kicked my @ss, but now that I'm older and wiser he and I get along very well. Jack on the rocks is my drink of choice these days - no wonder my memory gets a bit hazy
