This is going to be a seriously huge event...I think this year we are going to have to make groups to stick together because it will get hard to stay together through lights and traffic the more and more people join. Anyone with radios bring them, they really come in handy.

I cant wait

Hey guys...im not from the Mid-Atlantic area but would love to see another 50+ Z caravan roll into Fontana Village like last year....

We had guys from Canada, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Chicago, Minnesota, Louisville, Lexington, and I thought that some of the Mid-A guys joined our caravan this past year.........

We should try to organize a meeting spot like in say Knoxville somewhere where everyone can meet up and create a nice long line of Zs and cruise in together ....what do you all say?

Here you go....

Alright mid-A'ers,

Now is your chance to represent....The Capital 350Z / G35 Club is going to sponsor ZDayz this year. Our commitment to them is $100, so here's what I'd like to do....If you're planning on going and/or want to help the local club support this event, send me $5 or $10 via paypal (we can work out other methods offline, just PM me). As a small incentive, for anyone who commits $5 I will set you up with a free @capital350zclub.com web-mail account and if you send $10, I will set you up with an FTP account and 50 MB's worth of web-space you can use for picture and video hosting in addition to the email account.

Any money we collect over $100 will go towards making window decals out of the graphic that represents the club on the ZDayZ T-shirts.

My PayPal address is kcobean@nova350z.homeip.net.

Alright folks! The Capital 350Z/G35 Club has officially sponsored ZDayZ 2006. The money and the registration form went out today.

For those of you who contributed to the sponsorship, THANKS! and you will be receiving an email in the next few days with information about your new mail accounts. I've freshly installed an AWESOME mail system on the capital350zclub server that has a nice web-mail interface (which you don't have to use and a whole bunch of other great features. Look for more about that soon. If you haven't donated yet, it's not too late!

As for ZDayZ itself, a few thoughts from last year for those that haven't gone before.....

1. Take the Thursday before the event OFF from work if you can. This will give you a chance to a) get your car ready, and b) get some extra sleep. It's an early departure on Friday morning, (and for the NoVA/MD/DC folks it's an early departure from MANASSAS).
2. It is a good idea to have good tires and a brake inspection prior to coming down. This is a VERY windy road with steep inclines and you'll want to be able to stop when the middle pedal heads for the floor (that's the left pedal for you AT guys )
3. It's a dry county down there, so if you're inclined to kick back and have a few beers AFTER a day of driving, probably a good idea to bring it with you.
4. Bring detailing supplies. One of the weekend events is a car show which is optional, but trust me, you'll want to take pictures of your car down there. The scenery is amazing. I am bringing my digital SLR with me, and I will take pictures of every car in our group. For whatever it costs me to do it, I will posterize any photo I take of your car or the group. Just like this year, I'll post the good shots of the cars up on the club website. Dirty cars make for dirty pictures.
5. Bring SUNTAN LOTION, especially if you're participating in the car show....I burned to a crisp this year. If you're the type that doesn't burn....I HATE YOU!

More rambings as they come up.

UPDATE:

Clubs that sponsor ZDayZ get a nice discount on car show registration and T-shirt purchase. If you're attending ZDayZ and would like to represent the Capital 350Z/G35 Club, you'll need to fill out the "club registration form" and NOT the form available on the ZDayZ website. The registration form for the club is available on the Club Website.

Since there were just a few people who donated to the "sponsor fund", if you would like donate to the fund to support the club as it supports this event, it's not too late.

If you have any questions about filling out the form, let me know.

I will definitely need something a little stickier than the stockers, that is for sure. I think 19's 285 in the rear should do it.

Just added to the Capital Z Donation fund.

Also, I am looking to put in a reservation, anyone want to split a room?

Actually, I think it was more like 8 or 9 hours. We left around 4:30 and got in around 12:30 or 1:00.

You're lucky man. It's probably only about 5 or 6 hours for you guys in Richmond.
