I would say a very significant investment. The car has top quality parts all around; Lowenhart wheels, Kenstyle bodykit; etc. The interior work is incredible. You can't notice from Brent's pictures but there are 2 tiny lcd screens in the center console that will show the nos bottle gauges from 2 remote cameras. The car is sick. Brent's car is also insane; incredible attention to detail and very well coordinated plus major horsepower. You just never know what catches a judges eye. Hell, I've got some serious $$$ into mine and I had Brent's car next to mine and Jorge's car a few down.

It was a great time though and Brent has the right mindset.....treat it as an expense and not an investment.

Ron thanks for the compliments. I had a really good time with you guys. I look forward to seeing your completed stereo setup this weekend...? Stand over them with a crowbar they will get in done in time I am sure.... I know that will be awesome looking when it is done.

Yea, I missed the small LCD screens Ron. I was more focused on the trunk... The Green Eyed monster in me was trying to figure out how I could take the principles and make it lighter, with a bit more subtlety and still have crystal clear sound quality. (I have to always temper my enthusiasm with the reality of drag racing and extra weight is bad. Especially over the rear axle when launching. If I were to do any wheel hop think of the consequences to the sensitive stereo equipment....)

I have spoken to my man in DC. You and Jorge have inspired (shamed) me into a more sophisticated I.C.E. setup now... I think when the car goes back to VA I will be ripping the trunk and interior out for a bigger stereo if I can find enough time before HIN on April 22...

This is a VERY good point. Most show-cars do not dominate for more than 1-2 years before being replaced with something bigger, better, or maybe neither, but something newer.

The key is finding a balance between my race goals & some show wins. I do not want to compete on the strip. Just having the slips will be enough every couple of months to keep me happy.

Winning a couple of shows would be good to sort of justify all the time and money I have put into the car. I know that is not a very logical rationalization, but hey at least I recognize that it is really just a way to show off and get attention.

If I can scrape the money together fast enough, I think I will have a kicking setup by HIN... Otherwise I will have to hold off for a couple of months and unveil it next year...

Hey BamBam, keep in mind alot of show stuff will hinder your performance and vice versa. If you want to win more trophies, just start going to smaller shows.

Yes, just make sure the widow is rolled down and keep an eye on the tip of the door as it goes up. It will hold itself in position just like regular doors. I managed to ding the tip of my door the other day because I opened the door to the edge of the ceiling.... Then got out and my fat @$$ /dead weight leaving the car caused it to rise 1/4 inch and it hit the ceiling. But normally this is not a problem... I just need to pay more attention.

Integrity, yea I have been thinking about that. I have been trying to keep a balance on the car but it sure ain't easy. I have replaced a lot of parts with aftermarket parts that are lighter and added some performance parts that are necessary to keep her cool during racing.

I am thinking that removing the spare and replacing the current heavy aftermarket stereo I have with ultra light high performance stuff will help offset some of the additional weight. That plus replacing the stock interior with dynomat and fiberglass should only put me +10% weight for those parts. We shall see, I hope to keep the car @ 4,000 lbs with a new setup.

As for going to smaller shows... That is a possibility, but then again, I like to go in groups and there is less likely a chance of others going to smaller shows.
I think the car should really be rocking for HIN this year

Hey Bam, if I ever get around to getting wheels and a kit, I'll go to the small shows with you.
