Default Opinions: Ruff Racing 280 or 281

Hey Mid-A,
Need your opinion on some wheels. I want to buy either the Ruff Racing 280 or 281 in the 20" Staggered setup in Black for my 05 LS. I like the 281 better but these wheels have not even been made yet and Status wheels says that it will take 2 months, but I have heard this before since the Ruff Racing 279 has not got here and I heard the wait is 1 and 1/2 years and counting!!!! I know a vendor that will give me a good price on these wheels, Vqmotoring1 (Rickie), however I am afraid of how it will look without a big brake kit since I won't be able to afford it (big brake kit). Please give me your opinions on these wheels, I really do like the Ruff Racing 280, because it is like the TSW Thruxton which is my favorite, so I would definently buy them. Here they are on a Z.

Not sure, on the fence. Have you checked out the new TSW Nogaro wheels? Clean design.

So Chris, you like the 280, I am debating this. Ruff Racing isnt making the 281, which I like better than the 280 until 2 months, but who really knows, the 279 has been out for a year and a half so I don't know. So mixed feelings so far, but thats the opinions I like because right know I am either way also.

280, if you like the thruxtons, why dont you get them? i used to have 19" thruxtons on my last Z and am now looking for 20s for my current Z and am considering the 20" thruxtons but they are really heavy, is that why your getting them?

Dont worry about the big break kit. With a little shopping or some extra effort, you can get your current roters drilled and slotted, then paint/change the calipers. Look at Robbies with the 20"s. It makes the wheels look that much bigger imho!

Normally Im a fan of less spokes, but the 280 looks almost exactly like a pretty common foose wheel. I'd go with the 281's.
