Default Parts in stock. Stop in! Also: 350Z project car.

Hey Mid-A,

If you're in the neighborhood (Sterling, VA -- click my web link below for directions), stop in and see some of the 350/G35 stuff we have in stock. Among the goodies: A whole pallet full of 18" 5Zigen wheels in staggered fitment; carbon fiber underhood trim bits; forged lug nuts; and more.

So as not to break any advertising rules, I'll just link over to my thread about the wheels. I'll have a couple of other threads over in the Marketplace section later today.

We'll be building up our 350Z inventory for a while to come, so don't expect to see piles of Nissan parts spilling off of every shelf. But that'll improve in the near future.

The project car is a 350Z owned by Ultimate Performance, with whom we share our shop. The block is currently being built; it'll be sleeved so the rods don't pop out under boost . Brian Dean, Ultimate's owner, says he'll stuff two of "the largest turbos that will fit" in it. He's looking for very big power, lag-be-damned. I'll keep you posted as the buildup happens.

Thanks,

Dan

I don't think we'll ever stock those. They're a very expensive wheel, not something most of our customers would buy on impulse. But if you want us to order a set for you, that's no problem.

I've seen the work these guys do, and it's some of the best around. They have a talented Tuner, a great shop, and good experience with the Z. They built Shervin's motor and he's been driving around happily in the mid-400's at the wheel for awhile now. The "shop car" that Brian owns was owned by Alain (alot of you probably don't know who that is), and was one of the first Z's out there to hit mid-400's. It had a Jotech custom setup and was famous on the boards here for awhile. It popped because the boost controller settings were inadvertently changed (the boost controller was between the seats and subject to being 'bumped' by the drivers elbow), but the car ran very strong until that unfortunate event. If you're in the NoVA area and you need a full service shop, these are your guys.

Dan, great to see you guys on board.

Whoops. I cut-and-pasted from my Evo lug nuts.

Fixed. Thanks!

Hey how much would you guys charge to weld a bung (already have it) in my cat for my AEM wideband? I already have the AEM run to the bottom of the car, just really need the bung welded and the o2 sensor screwed in? FYI - if it makes a difference my car is really low.

We'd have to look at it, but figure $120-$200. (I'm assuming the cat has to cool off, come off the car, get welded, and get back on the car.) Come by for an exact quote.

Seems like every time I quote something like this, I get a response, "That's outrageous! Such-and-such shop can do it for half that!" Sometimes we get people coming in and just wanting something little welded, and they expect it to be $20 or something. We can't charge that small amount, even for a "quick" weld job. TIG welding is expensive both in terms of hardware and materials, and in the high labor cost. Our fabricator is, hands down, the best welder I have ever seen. And he gets paid accordingly.

We've tuned many, many UTECs. I admit, though, that we haven't yet had the opportunity to tune a 350Z with one. But I'd choose me tuning it on the 350 vs. a someone who is (supposedly) a 350Z expert but a UTEC novice.
