Default ATI procharger is finished!!!!

$1300 later, the original crank pulley is back on, new spark plugs are installed, and the ECU was flashed by Altered Atmosphere. Dyno results: 378 whp and 314 lb - ft of torque. eventually I need to upgrade the fuel pump and put in 550 cc injectors, but that will probably wait until next spring when I might add the 9 psi pulley. for now, these numbers should hopefully put me around a 12.3 quarter mile. track results later.

going to try and scan the dyno today and post. was having difficulties last night. a/f is ok until 6000 rpm. at that point the stock fuel system can't keep up.

so far the fuel system is all stock, except for the extra fuel pump that ATI sends with the kit to increase fuel rail pressure. the people at AAM said that if i shift at 6000 i should be ok, with mixing in race gas i should be ok to about 6300 so I'll probably visit the pumps at capitol for fuel before running. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a while (and probalby have to drive easy on the street) before i can get the 550 cc injectors, fuel pump, and anything else that is required because classes for grad school are too damn expensive.

Hmm A/F is right on 12's A/F too lean imo for turbo Z's (heat) but more acceptable for S/C Z's, although I wouldnt be happy with that. Its actually off the scale rich from 5500-6200rpm's, if they can get it that rich at 6000rpms I dont understand why they cant do that earlier in the powerband. Hows the car feel? Do you know how much timing your running at redline or how much is retarded over stock? Im curious to see....thanks for posting.

The nice thing is that, your cars doesnt sound like a honda going down the road too....stock set up have limits but if 400 to the wheels isnt good enough, then you are crazy.

I think im going stillen or vortech (not turbo)....my goal is to have a fun car that is reliable...not the KING KONG, axle, piston shattering beast. Its all fun until it breaks.....

Being a Baller on a Budget, I have to consider the long term when it comes to my car...

HOW LOUD IS YOUR ATI? THE LAST ONE I HERD SOUNDED LIKE A TRANNY GOING BAD ON A 1978 BUICK WITH A BAD POWER STEERING PUMP! LOL?

Not possible.

FWIW-and I believe anybody that knows Maddy and her ATI G Coupe will agree-the ATI unit is loud as $hit at idle and low revving driving through a praking lot. Its love it or hate it, I love it, sounds like a freakin spaceship landing.

the ati is loud as hell. so, there goes my plans of sneaking into capitol and making a 12 sec pass and suprising some mustangs and camaros. anyone that knows anything about cars will hear me a mile away and know what i have.basically it sounds like an airplane that is taxiing to the runway before take off but it isn't too bad from inside the car. on the road it feels pretty nice, pulls pretty hard and goes sideways on the 1-2 shift but i'm not sure about the timing details. i know that there is some detonation around 6400 so i'll be taking it kind of easy at the track until the fuel is straightened out. too bad there isn't a MIR or capitol day coming up. seems like i missed everything.

Default Balling on a Budget

[QUOTE=Alberto] Not possible.

I am a Baller on a Budget.. I have 4 cars, house and a fine az$ wife....lol

Car 1
A pimping bone stock white w/red leather 1977 Buick Electra 225 4 door with 60K original miles that is so quiet I often start it after its been running. Plus is can hold 6 people comfortably. 350 has plenty of go. (I PAID 1500 BUCKS FOR IT)

Car2
A 98% rebulit 1978 Jeep CJ5...Chevy 350 bored .040 over with a Dodge Dulley NV4500 tanny 5 speed on 20 inch Nitto 335/55/20 tire with custom centerline rims. Paid One dollar from my Mom like 5 years ago.

Car3
1999 Amigo (bone stock) wifey (free and paid off)

Car4
2005 G35 AAM Pspacer 350Z tube and K&N Charger. Bought it used to save 10K off the sticker price.

Granted I have dumped about 20K in my jeep with the racing seats and custom aluminum body and diamon plate interior (still not done yet...lol) When I have money...I buy shizzil,,,when I dont, I appreciate what I do have.

But Balling on a Budget makes more since than going broke and not being able to fix your car when you crash it or it breaks. Plus I get to enjoy my upgrades as I change them, vs getting bored with a 500HP car after a few months of installing everything. ( I know two poeple like this already). Wish I had the problem....lol.

I still think that the stillen is killing most of the guys out on the hole shot, (I know you run slicks, Im talking street tires, everyday stuff) which is where I like to drive (race) the most anyways. Im not a big top end speeder. I was doing 80 and got popped and have to go to court now. Out the hole torque, reliablity and fun is what im looking for, not airplane sounds and so much power I have to upgrade my entire car to use it safely. I drive way too crazy (ask Mike from Altered) to get anything above 500 crank!

LOL
