Why is it so HARD?
I will ask my mechanic for you when he puts on the wheel studs. He is really good, doesn't do paint, but I will ask him if he knows of a good trustworthy shop. Don't know if I will find out in time for the Frederick meet, at least not enough time to get your stuff painted before then.
Check out WagonWork near Pentagon City, VA. They did some work on my car after it was keyed last year - top notch quality and service.

i've got a guy in blacksburg that does all my work for me, gives me a pretty good rate, but thats 3 and 1/2 hours from richmond, you'd spend in gas whatever discount you got!

Because....as car enthusiasts we're very picky about the quality of the paint, brand of paint, how well it matches the rest of the car, blah, blah...
Oh, and 80% of the time the kit is crap and it's alot of prep work for dude.
Plus, we want the "hook-up" and only have $500 to spend. If I owned a shop it would be low on the priority list.
If the parts are quality and you're willing to spend a little (and I know you are...) ca'mon up to NoVa.

Well Pumped, it's hard because...oh nevermind.
Seriously though, I know what you mean. It's really tough to find paint shops that aren't focused on mini-van collision work... A specialty paint shop that does nothing but aftermarket, non-collision work would make a killing in this area because they'd corner a market that is largely unfilled. When I get the flaws in the paint on the viper repaired, I'm going to suck it up and take it to Ferrari. It's gonna cost, but I KNOW it'll get done right by whoever does the work on their other cars. You thought about giving them a call to see what they can do for you?

I know you're in Richmond, but Unique Auto Body (near me in Fallston, MD) does fantastic work. I don't know how much cheaper they would be compared to Ferrari, so I'm not sure if the trip would be worth it. Their number is 410-877-8797 should you want to call.
